The Allan Border Medal

cometer

State Regular
Why is it a joke? Because you don't agree with the result?
Partly, but other issues arise like how the media/umpires votes tallied to have Hussey and Ponting finish higher than they perhaps should have.

I don't have any real problems with Clarke winning it either, just don't believe Ponting and Hussey should have come anywhere near the top as they've had pretty lean seasons except for the odd innings here and there.

Then there's Nicholas.

You've just inadvertently hit the nail on the head there though mate. The votes aren't cast retrospectively at the end of the year for the most consistently outstanding performer, they're cast match-by-match. So three great innings that are deemed MOM performances give you 9 votes right there, regardless of what you do for the rest of the year. For these kind of systems it's often better to be spectacular for a handful of matches and dross for the rest than to be consistently pretty good for a long period of time.

Ponting would have got best in team for the MCG match, prolly for the first match in India as well, without even thinking about it

Ponting the AB medal winner??

And that too shared with Clarke??

What a wankfest. This is the lowest ebb in the Australian cricket summer as far as I am concerned.

 Katman returns empty handed.

As Smitteh said earlier, this is the funniest pic imo, those three look like complete bunch of losers, all that's was left for them to do was hold each others hands!!
