its doesnt matter.. head to head matters.. You cant be winners in NZ just because you won against AUS recently.. Its 'head to head' that matters
mate,in odis its close india have won 36 to nz 35
but in tests it is 14 india to nz 9 and tests is what matter

I know; it was a joke. It was pretty much the worst pun ever, particularly as it wasn't really funny even once you get past the pun, but your terrible joke deserved one just as bad. :p
I didn't mean as a joke tbh. Just curious to know who;s behind that tricky nick.

Have to wait till Volty explains it then. As if.....
It's a turn of phrase. Bags = I want first go. "I want first go at being a moderator."

I'm sure you would have heard that during your time at Port Chalmers Primary School.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think Badri, Vijay and DK should get into the NZ test tour squad as the reserve opener, middle order and keeper.. As for the seamers, it should be Zak, Ishant, Munaf, Praveen and Irfan in that order. I am not convinced about Sree (even though his pace seemed ok in the second innings) or RPS or even Balaji just yet... The spinners will obviously be Bhajji and Mishra although I would really prefer it if Mishra can play as the lone spinner.. He is the more attacking option. But that is obviously not going to happen....

For the extra batter's spot, I think it might be Rohit Sharma or Raina, based on whoever performes better in the ODIs, if they pick the extra batter.

IF it was upto me, I would pick this squad of 16 for the 3 tests:

Sehwag (vc)
Gambhir
Dravid
Tendulkar
Laxman
Yuvraj
Dhoni (wk) (c)
Harbhajan
Zaheer
Ishant
Munaf

Reserves:

Vijay
Badri
Mishra
Praveen
Karthik

A back up for every spot should be enough for a 3 test series.

I'd (unsurprisingly) back Mishra to take more wickets in NZ too. Harbs isn't much of a bowler outside the sub-continent.

This should be the T20 XI:
  • Sehwag
  • Gambhir
  • Yuvraj
  • Dhoni
  • Raina
  • Rohit Sharma
  • Irfan (LMF)
  • Harbhajan (OB)
  • Praveen (RMF)
  • Zaheer (LFM)
  • Ishant (RFM)
The best pick. Mostly specialists. You have a very powerful top four that should be utilised fully, with a middle-order that can string partnerships, and strikers at seven, eight and nine. If there's a doubt about Irfan (hopefully not, this is a T20) they can pick Ojha or Mishra.

Actually, Mishra would be a good pick for limited-overs matches. The Kiwis are not the best players of spin bowling, so an extra, genuine spinner will be useful in matches here. He'll also save more runs and even score a few coming low down the order. A combination of Harbhajan, Zaheer, Kumar and Mishra will be very effective and should be explored. We don't expect the same thing to happen in Tests, since there are anyway six batsmen, though there's a trade-off between Harbhajan/Mishra and Yuvraj.
