Viv was not a bad part time bowler either.Matchwinner I said. Averages lie in this case. Tendulkar is a partnership breaker. Anyway out of context I suppose.
You forgot abour Zaheer Abbas. He was equally good as far as strike rate is concerned. Perhaps Zaheer had better. In his time Viv was only player of his type. He was unique, we can put very few in his category.
Greatbach made things easier for players like Sachin, Jayasuriya, Kaluwitharana, Sohail, Anwar etc [ WC 1992 + era ]
In my opinion, Viv is better ODI bat than SRT!
Bevan was the best finisher but not the best ODI batsman. It would be either Viv or Zaheer. The answer is Michael Bevan. The rest is irrelevant.
what
Kris Srikanth made it easy for Viv in that case.

May be Ponting, Bevan and Jayasuriya may be classed with them. Hussey, Pietersen and Dhoni are way behind those elite four. Why not Ponting? Hussey? Pietersen? Dhoni? Kallis?
