***Official*** India in Sri Lanka

I wonder if it's too soon to compare Dhoni's role in the Indian batting lineup to Michael Bevan's. He definitely seems to play a similar kind of "finisher" role to what Bevan used to do.

Although I guess we haven't really seen too many cases of Dhoni toughing it out with the tail. Still, it's nice to see India with a batsman who doesn't succumb to the pressure of falling wickets.

I'm getting a little worried for Mendis. Is this his first wicketless ODI? He was outbowled by Maharoof, Raina and Y Pathan.

Mahela needs to stop batting lower and lower down the order. He has never been that good with few overs left on the clock, and batting that low (more usually than not) under pressure is not the way to find his form. He needs to return to his spot at no. 4 with Kandamby batting 5 and Kapu at 6 with Maharoof at 7.

Nice work by Dhoni. Fine knock, it seems. Nice to see Jaya still able to score big. SL will miss him in a big way when he walks off into the sunset.

Sangakkara's innings stands out like a sore thumb on the scorecard, almost looks match-losing. I've been noticing him scoring unnecessarily slowly a fair bit of late.

Yeah, it's kinda like every innings an England opener has played since Trescothick retired.

He has no choice, apparently Chris Martin is batting behind him in the number 4 spot.

Although the care factor is minimal regarding this series, nice to see we're not Mendis' bitches all the time.

Good observation that. Puts a little too much pressure on the other end too.

Piss poor batting, but evidently he has no faith in Sri Lanka's middle order.

Neither does Sanath, when you consider how carefully he played against Sharma and Raina, and how pissed he was when Sanga got himself out.

3 man batting line-up (with Dilshan) atm.

in odis this is a good idea on flat pitches i mean playing 5 bowlers maharoof is more
a bowling allrounder like mirando.one bad match should not mean they should play a extra batsman.

Catches win matches and that's why SL lost. They could have defended 245 if they took their chances. Yes, they could have batted bit better, and could have taken power play when Jayasuriya was in full cry (i. when he was on 60s).

Mahela is under the microscope. He might lose his place to Angelo Matthews. Now Kandamby has proved that he's equipped to stick it out in tight situations
