Cahill is awesome.
Indeed - was hoping Super Tim would come through for us tonight and he didn't let me down. Puts United in a great position now, though as I've said before on here it's nowhere near the foregone conclusion some pundits and bookies seem to think it is. Anything could happen with so many games to play.

Still after the trip to Japan, with fixtures piling up and a mounting injury list I can't say I'm anything but delighted with where we are.

Kaka's non-move to Citeh could also have potential ramifications on one of the other big transfers, if stories around today are to be believed.

Reports say that Arsenal have all-but agreed a deal for Arshavin in the region of £12m up front, potentially rising to £16m - however City may now swoop in and hijack the deal.

Yeah de Jong will be quality.

Downside re: no Kaka = Goal.com - Manchester City - Robinho Storms Out Of Manchester City Camp

Whilst it's probably just rubbish, it's probably the biggest worry.
It's been reported as a fact on Sky Sports News up here, for what it's worth. Marginally more credible source than Goal.com. Possibly.

Still think it points to the arse for Sparky. Now the only Brazilian he had on-side has copped the arse with him so the already thin ice he was skating on has just had salt applied to it.

One wonders if part of the reason Robinho signed was that he was promised they'd sign Kaka as well.

We'll never find out, and in the end it doesn't matter.

From reports emerging now Robinho stormed out after Hughes personally refused to let him go back to Brazil to celebrate his 25th birthday with his family.

Nah its obviously Bellamy's fault
I'm willing to run with this.

Hughes to be gone by the end of January.
Nah. He won't be booted until the summer. If he was going to be sacked, he'd have been sacked when we lost away to WBA just before January ticked over. He'll stay unless there's a very very very real danger of us going down, which with our prem form of late, hopefully won't happen.

Well I don't understand the Bellamy hate from our resident citeh fans if he stays fit he'll be a great signing, so quick and when he's on his game, he's class. Just don't play a friendly game of golf with him.....

Mind you, I suppose if your expecting Kaka, it's going to be a bit of a letdown.

My city have signed. on loan, the poshest name of a footballer, since Forbes Phillipson-Masters *spit*.

Troy Archibald-Henville, from Spurs.

Never really expected Kaka tbh. Just don't rate Bellamy I think he's an absolute **** looking for a nice payday before retirement.

But then again, going on recent history he'll play for 23 more clubs before retirement.

Personally, I'd prefer they stuck with Sturridge who has all the potential in the world and has been regularily delivering on it of late.

He's not young any more either - he turns 30 this year. And he cost £14m, which is quite frankly ridiculous.

I've read a few comments on various sites about fans being excited waiting for City to "start" splashing the cash. Well if the De Jong transfer goes through that will take City's spending to something approaching £120m in six months. I'd say that's a start.

Still need to do something about their defence if they ever want to be taken seriously. Too few players willing to track back and get stuck in - although when they had 10 men, apparently that's exactly what they did. Think they should just start with 10, really.

Big win for the Grecians tonight, really thought mid-table obscurity beckoned.

Me of little faith :shy:

That's really only been the fault of Robinho and Jo, even Elano has tracked back for most of the season. It's not tracking back that's been the problem, it's been absolute rubbish defending from the back 4 (the two centre-halves mainly) that's had us leaking goals.
