What you are saying is fair enough, but tbh he has always come across to as someone who is a better ODI bowler than a T20 bowler, and given the helpful conditions in ODI games he can get people out as he has proved against India and Bangers last year.

Hopes is not half the bowler Harvey was, both bowl at the same pace but at the similarities end there, Harvey was a master with changes of pace and at death bowling, and was a handy lower order bat too, Hopes obviously is a better batsman than Harvey, but unlike Harvey, Hopes doesn't finds it too easy to come in straight away and start slogging from ball one, Hopes would have been a fantastic ODI bowler for Australia had he had all the variations Harvey had.
It doesn't always work that way. Guys that take wickets early usually have lots of pace or good swing in T20.
And James Hopes has neither, therefore making him useless at early-match bowling.
Yes but atleast he can keep it down to 8 an over, not 10 an over like the rest of the Queensland seamers. Lesser of the two evils.
To be fair to the others, when your opening bowler doesn't take any wickets it's a looot harder to keep it tight. Besides, it's not the type of bowler you want playing for Australia.
You obviously don't watch QLD play very often then. He's only bowling new pill/first change because they're generally ****ing rubbish, though with Swann coming on this year they've been much improved.

Haha there is no way that Harris > Hopes when it comes to batting.
Becuase Hopes has lots more international runs. I'd be surprised if he had a superior FC record too.
