Flair to appear in Florida?

Hi Elaine,

I represent a small independent promotion based in Deltona, Florida. We would be interested in hiring Ric for an appearance/autograph signing at one of our live events. Please could you confirm whether this is possible, and give an indication of the costs.

Kind Regards

Henry Pearce
Deltona Pro Wrestling

Low Ki has signed with WWE and will be competing in their developmental territory FCW until creative get a storyline for him.

Meanwhile Val Venis, D'Lo Brown, Bam Neely, Referee Jimmy Korderas, Referee Kevin Keenan and Referee Mike Posey have all been released as part of a cost cutting initiatve from WWE.

Ah, my bad, let's just say a regular contributor (though not for five months) to this thread got his agent's email address and sent it as a wind-up. Forgot that not everyone would know who Henry Pearce was.

Right. Seems pretty easy to book Ric Flair for an appearance if you have the money I guess.

Just thought I'd post in here to emphasise how thoroughly stoked I am for Christian's impending return. The fact that by the end of 2009, Kurt Angle could be back in WWE as well makes me really enthusiastic about this year.

2007 was probably the worst year for wrestling since 1993, but 2008 was a real show of bouncebackability from the WWE, while TNA has pretty much gone down the pan. 2009 could be a make or break year for the latter - in the current financial climate, if TNA keeps losing stars like Christian and Angle to WWE (or alternatively, fails to draw the quality of ex-WWE talent it has attracted in recent years), then its buyrates are going to fall so far behind WWE's that it just won't be anything close to competition any more.

TNA was always pissing against the wind so to speak, especially without Turner style bankrolling and anything which really differentiates it from WWE (unlike MMA feds). It'll take a really rich man throwing money at it for long enought t establish themselves to make any real impact on WWE.

I'm really excited about Christian's return as well. Would love for him to be World Champion sometime this year and have a program with Edge, Triple H or Jeff Hardy.

That being said, TNA have slid down quite a bit recently but they still have some of the best in ring talent in the world. Case in point, the Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin match from Genesis was outstanding.

It's already being talked about as a Match of the Year candidate and rightly so. If you haven't seen it, try and get a hold of the Genesis PPV just for that match. It was incredible and this is what TNA should showcase, fantastic X Division matches.

Steve Austin in the WWE Hall of Fame for 2009!

Fantastic to see him up there and the video package they did for Austin was brilliant. So many great memories and it's a reminder of why he is one of the greatest of all time.

Yeah, without a doubt. The man changed the business for the better, it'll be a huge event to see him inducted at WrestleMania's Silver anniversary show. He'll obviously make a cameo at the event itself, too.

Interested to see on last night's RAW, the return of Ted DiBiase - I'm glad they've gone with the best option on his return and had him join up with Legacy from the off. I didn't wanna see a month of useless tweener behaviour from DiBiase which killed his momentum, and I'm very glad they've replaced the dead weight that is Manu and Sim Snuka. The impending rumoured addition of DH Smith to the stable would complete it, IMO - four fantastically talented young guys with the sky as the limit. It could genuinely be a chance for Randy Orton to cement a legacy of his own.

Hope they keep it at three. Can't see Harry Smith fitting in.

To be fair, I was disappointed to see Snuka get the arse. I rate him pretty highly. Manu can **** off, though.

I think there's a chance to see Austin vs Jericho at this years Wrestlemania. Austin has expressed before that the only people he's willing to work with are guys like Jericho so a Stephanie vs Vince feud with Austin and Jericho as their hired guns could be a way they could go. Especially now with Jericho and Stephanie having that falling out on Raw with Jericho getting 'fired'.

That is an awesome idea, if Austin's willing to get back into the ring again. Would love to see that.

I do think they've had a change of heart on the whole "Steph vs Vince" thing - I'm convinced it was originally going to be Shane vs Steph, with Steph as the heel, but now it'll most likely be Steph staying face after last night. Which could mean we're in for some classic Vince heel action, kicked off by his rehiring Jericho next week just to get him some cheap heat on his return.

Said it already so many times, but I can't wait for WrestleMania. I was excited last year, very much so, but this year it's gonna be so much bigger and better.

Saw that match the other day. Was going to comment on it as I came in here, only to see you post about it. An absolute cracker of a match, would have it in my top 5 that I've seen.

EDIT: Just realised you put me on ignore the other day. Oh well.

Top class match, it was a couple of top rope moves away from being a spotfest, but as it was it was fantastic. If only the WWE would allow more matches like that - just once on SmackDown I'd kill to see Hurricane Helms vs John Morrison.

I recently bought 'A Lion's Tale' by Chris Jericho and 'Edge: A Decade of Decadence' and I've been enjoying them both. Have started reading Chris Jericho's book and it's one of the most entertaining autobiographies I've read. It's genuinely funny and very detailed and I'm sure that every wrestling fan and even non wrestling fans would enjoy the book.

The Edge DVD is outstanding, one of the best DVDs the WWE has produced so far. So many great matches, so many great moments and a 'Best of Edge and Christian' package in the DVD Extras. A must buy if you're an Edge fan.

Got CJ's book over christmas, did enjoy it a lot but was a bit disappointed that it ended before detailing anything about his life in WWF/E. Assuming he's going to write a second book like Mick Foley did but who knows.
