Was a toss up between Nourse and Lloyd for the little bit extra he adds in field and aggression he adds to the batting line up. Would have been nice to have Nourse at 3.

Morgieb is now going to be replaced by the first person who posts here claiming it, who can then make 3 picks in a row. A good opportunity to shape the team straight away no doubt.

His team so far is

Matthew Hayden
Sunil Gavaskar
Viv Richards
Kapil Dev
Dennis Lillee.

Ok 3 picks right. Hopefully Ive checked correctly.

Alec Stewart, Aubrey Faulkner and Bob Willis

Nice pick Michael - I've been toying with Nourse for a couple of rounds now, but had decided that I could safely wait a while longer as he's not exactly a name that frequently comes up - which is silly because he was the rock of that relatively weaker SA team.

All good. Just so you know for future reference, every player has to have played at least one test post WWI.

You'll have to pick another choice instead of Faulkner - its only players who've played at least one test post WWI. Nice choices otherwise.

I hate you so much, I knew I should have picked him last round. **** now I'm going to have a four man pace attack.
I thought 20s were fine, like Herb Sutchiffle?
They are....
Ignore me - I'm an idiot. I had in my head that Faulkner only played PRE-WWI. Really annoyed at myself because I would have taken him a round or two ago if I had bothered to check my facts. Awesome selection in that case then Goughy - me having a brainfade is one thing, but I'm staggered no-one else has selected such a gun allrounder until now.

As mentioned, on the plus side, I might be a gibbering wreck this morning, but its my turn again! :)

Bob Simpson
Ultra-reliable opener - as compared to his career average of mid-40s, he averaged over 50 when opening (his record was affected somewhat by coming out of retirement after nearly a decade to lead a WSC depleted Australia against the West Indies - WAG). He'll be the rock around which my middle order can bat. Also a useful enough leggie should conditions mean that I want a second spinner to bowl with O'Reilly. Finally, he was by all accounts perhaps the best first slip ever - with him at first, Knott behind the stumps and G.Chappell at second, there aren't going to be many edges going down. For me, imagining what Imran and Waqar's record might look like with fielders who can catch = :naughty:

However big thumbs-down to Pskov for selecting Bill Lawry - was going to be the leftie to bat with Simmo and reunite their famous partnership, thought he'd last another round or two. :)

Team so far:
Bob Simpson
Wally Hammond
Greg Chappell
Neil Harvey
Imran Khan
Alan Knott
Waqar Younis
Bill O'Reilly
