Teams gearing all ODI selections towards world cups as if every other series doesn't matter is one of my pet hates.
Also, i must remember to incorporated the phrase "i be cringin', yo" into conversation more often.

So if said natural evolution involves 4-5 players of excellence retiring a year before a World Cup, that's fine? Not in my book. I accept some people don't consider World Cup ODIs are the only ones where the result is important, but that's my attitude. I couldn't care less how many games are lost when the ODIs aren't in World Cups. I would like England to pick some better ODI players rather than utter nonsense, but I've absolutely no wish to see a player continue to play for England (or any other team, but England especially) in ODIs if he isn't going to be playing in the next World Cup.
