He did in the context. Also, thats probably the test, forgetting about him missing the 100 for a second, its a huge wicket for SAOuch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!
He deserved the 100.

My work here is done . Third time I've unintentionally jinxed a batsman this year by posting online.Go Ponting!
Its weird how previously annoying batsmen become so much more likeable when they play for a weak team
Hah, no disrespect to Sachin. But Ponting will pass him. May even get 50 test hundreds.Sachin probably breathing a huge sigh of relief though. He's closing in and fast.
Haha wtf. Spent as much time in the 90s as he did getting there.God he must be feeling double terrible now! Not sure why he was in a hurry to get to 100...Is it the first time he's out on 99?
ROFL! Nice.I think Ponting forgot to take his Swiss Ulti-Vites when he was on 99 not out.
If Channel 9 and Cricinfo said it, it must be true. Both Cricinfo and the Channel 9 commentary said that it can be harder to chase down small totals than big ones, so it seems like South Africa might be in a fair bit of trouble if they don't bowl them out before stumps?
Rubbish. Most successful run chases would be in the small ball-park (relatively speaking - that is say under 250). The only reason they are saying that is because the unsuccessful small run chases tend to stick in the head, and in these cases depend on the surface and bowlers. In the case of the "glorious" channel 9 commentary team, it is nothing more than wishful thinking. (Its just a shame I cannot see Ian Healy's face. Also, I wonder if Nicholas will jump ship?)Both Cricinfo and the Channel 9 commentary said that it can be harder to chase down small totals than big ones, so it seems like South Africa might be in a fair bit of trouble if they don't bowl them out before stumps?
I'm gullible, what can I say! Haha.If Channel 9 and Cricinfo said it, it must be true.
Ah, I understand. Makes a lot of sense, actually.Rubbish. Only way SA will lose this is if they choke. Otherwise they have comprehensively demolished Australia, and deserve to win.
Was a poor shot to get out tough, the ball was miles outside off and the field on the off side was completely packed, so don't know what he was trying to do there.Haha wtf. Spent as much time in the 90s as he did getting there.
Chappell, Warne and Slater - collectively make me wanna smash the screen. Both Cricinfo and the Channel 9 commentary said that it can be harder to chase down small totals than big ones, so it seems like South Africa might be in a fair bit of trouble if they don't bowl them out before stumps?
Trying to hit a 4 I would imagine.don't know what he was trying to do there.
