Made Sanga's keep due to the fact the batting is strong enough to have him keep and bat.
did no one notice how multi-talented Sarwan is he can be 12th man and play at the same time... amazing

Even contest for mine. Even though SL/WI have 3 top class batsmen in Sangakkara, Jayawardene & Chanderpaul, they don't bat as deep as the Eng/NZ team who have the luxury of Vettori coming in at 9.

In terms of Bowling, SL/WI have the 3 M's with Bravo & Edwards/Vaas, while Eng/NZ have Sidebottom, Flintoff, O'Brien/Anderson & Oram as the backup seamer. Vettori as the lone spinner.

The prospect of Vettori & Flintoff bowling in tandem is an exciting one IMO. Reckon they're be damn hard to get away if they were both on top of their game.

IMO Eng/NZ would just sneak the 3 match series - 2/1; winning the Perth & Adelaide matches only to lose to Murali & Mendis in Sydney.

Next, a hypothetical 4-way test tournament where the composite teams are paired off accordingly to their ICC rankings;

As of 26 Dec 08 the top 8 test teams read;

1) Aust
2) India
3) SA
4) SL
5) Eng
6) Pak
7) WI
8) NZ

So if we paired the teams off 1-8, 2-7,3-6 etc we'd have;

Aust/NZ

India/WI

SA/Pak

Eng/SL

Name your composite lineups for the above teams & comment on which team you'd think would be have the strongest all-round test team

Hayden
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Symonds
Haddin
Vettori

India-Windies
Sehwag
Gambhir
Sarwan i guess. Dravid has been so poor for such a long time.
Tendulkar
Chanderpaul
Laxman
Dhoni
Sharma
Harbhajan
Mishra
Zaheer

SA-Pakistan
Smith
McKenzie
Khan
Kallis
De Villiers
Prince
Boucher
Steyn

Gonna presume Akhtar can play but Asif and Moyo can't.

Eng-SL
Strauss
Warnapura in subcontinent, else Cook
Sangakarra
Pietersen
M Jayawardene
Collingwood
Flintoff
P Jayawardene
Sidebottom
Murali
Mendis

Eng-SL the pick for me, followed a fair bit behind by India-Windies.

Yeah Eng-SL do have a good balance with Murali & Mendis.

Personally I would have had Oram instead of Symonds & would still have McCullum over Haddin as I think he's a better keeper

Prefer McCullum but i didn't think i could make a case for him with the way Haddin's playing atm. Oram's been injured for so long i can't remember whether he's any good or not.

Not fair. India and SA getting the raw end of the deal here. India get stuck with a one man team, and SA get stuck with a non-Test playing nation

No room for Mike Hussey in your Aust/NZ team?
