Hmmm. Interesting pair of picks I got while I was away. Looks like people took most of my "A" list... Still, I've got a nice pair of Pollocks.

Please disregard my list of players, Pskov. I will pick my team for a while...

Peter Pollock is a pretty good pick - if he was still available for my next pick, he'd be amongst those I'd be looking at very closely.

Greg Chappell. Clearly the second best Aussie batsman of all time for mine. An average of 53 is Impressive enough, but according to Armstrong, in the time Chappell played, no one he played a test with or against ended with a better average, and only 8 others had an act above 45 - it was a tough time for batsmen.

Good call, probably the toughest era for batsmen since WWI.

And his record would be even better if RoW and WSC matches were included - over 9,000 runs at an average of nearly 56. A hell of a record given the bowling he faced.

I'm spewing slightly that I was automatically given both Walsh and Laker.

My side desperately needed a bowler however, with my next choice after I wanted a batsmen.

Why did someone automatically pick Jim Laker for me after I had Walsh?

For the record I would have picked Greg Chappell.

Chappell, Tendulkar and Sobers from 4 to 6 would have been amazing.

You listed Walsh and Laker in your post so I assumed that they were your next two you wanted to pick regardless. If that wasn't the case then I apologise, it was my fault. Feel free to drop Laker and swap in someone else if you want, but I think it would have to be someone who hasn't been picked since otherwise it will get complicated.

Yeah no worries, I can totally see how you'd assume this, the reason I didn't list my first choice batsman out of the two was because I thought one of the people straight after me would have picked Chappell.

I think that having two goes relatively close together was the reason for your assumption.

I just figured that I needed a bower as I had just Trueman, but than thought if I wanted the best possible side I needed to include a batsman also, as in the 20 odd picks before my next go a lot of great batsman would be picked, and it seems this way as greats such as Ponting, Miandad, Chappell, Weekes have all been included.

Laker is a tremendous player anyways, I just wanted to point it out.

Ah yeah. He's a damn good pick, but was ideally looking for a proper all-rounder, but pretty happy with the bowling line up.

Shame that pskov got Shaun Pollock, otherwise my team would be based around a load of old Pollocks.

I strongly considered taking a wicketkeeper, but I think that getting a second top drawer middle order batsman is probably a bigger priority. The best keepers left now are those with supreme glovework who can also bat well, but I think all the tremendous wicket-keeper batsman have now been picked so those remaining are almost much of a muchness relatively.

I think we should still allow picking, but just remove the time limit till Boxing Day or the 27th, I don't think there's any point stopping people from picking, though, if they can...

If you can pick, then you pick, but if you can't pick over the holiday period, it's no problem.

we stop, basically we keep going as normal except we suspend the 24 hour limit. So if its your pick next you can go now but if you cant be on for 5 or 6 days then u pick then but the person after you has to wait until you have.
