If you plan on doing it the way you suggested (take away the $800 after 4 weeks) then you have to include the stake in the return otherwise you will be taking away profits at the end of the 4 weeks.
Yeah but for calculation purposes it's easier to do things this way so i'll work it as a sort of "overdraft" that rises weekly.

Lets say now Smith outscores Kallis then I'm up $350 odd already this week, can I then bet again with that in the same week or are we limiting people to only betting that $200 a week?

Nah you can bet any winnings you make. Your balance would be +350 and you're allowed to go down to -200 (-400 after next wednesday).

My other $150 is going on West Indies to have the first innings lead at $2.20 to return $330.

Update:

99*- £9 +; $50 on Smith to outscore Ponting in the first test @2.00 = $50; $40 on Morkel to be SA's leading wicket taker for the series @ 3.75, $15 on SA to win against Australia (1st test) @ 3.60, $5 double on Harmison to MOTM (2nd test)+Ryder to top score for NZ@ 115.0

If anyone's confused about their winnings, i'm listing the amount of profit rather than the profit+returned stake.

Why Pound and not dollar ????

Australia are currently paying $1.50 to win the match with South Africa 6/238, good banker IMO.

I am really annoyed with the Cricket Web members in the current Test match against South Africa. This isn't merely a whinge about the usual banalaties they sprout forth. Every day or so, they are encouraging people to bet play money on the outcome of the game. Now, I don't mind it if posters sometimes mention the fact that a team is now "100-1" to win the match or similar to demonstrate how far behind they are, but I have struggled to understand why we needed to be updated that South Africa were now $2.55 on the win, rather than the $2.15 an hour earlier.

However, it has become clear that it is merely an advertising scheme approved by the hierarchy at Cricket Web. One or two mentions of betting odds could be coincidence; the continual repeating demonstrates is a predetermined strategy. I don't mind if companies wish to advertise, that is what makes the world run. But don't go in for this almost 'subliminal' advertising, with Uppercut throwing in regular references without acknowledging that he is being paid to do so. I was under the clearly misguided opinion that there was a limit on how much advertising was allowed on the forums. Cricket Web are obviously trying to bypass this limitation by having their posters constantly promoting betting. Mr Casson and Cricket Web have history , so its hardly surprising, but still disappointing, to see Cricket Web so actively promoting Cass's company's activities.

This is so wrong on many levels. The actual promotion of gambling is bad enough; there are a lot of people in the world who have problems with an addiction without it being forced down their throat whilst trying to post about our supposed favourite game. However, in light of the ongoing problems with match-fixing, it appears the height of hypocrisy for Cricket Web to be so openly promoting betting.

Surrounding the cricket forums this summer is advertising material for Bet365. I have no drama with this. It is clear and transparent. However, the appalling actions of Cricket Web are beyond the pale. Very poor stuff.

Could someone check West Indies odds currently to have the first innings lead?

Bet365 is not working for me at work.

The idea is to be bad at this game. I'd hate to be killing it but not actually putting the bets on.

pasag- -$50 + $50 on SA to win the 1st test @ 3.60

Current odds at close of play:

NZ- 2.62

Australia- 1.16
SA- 6.50
Draw- 15.00

India- 3.50
England- 21.00
Draw- 1.36

The pick for me here is India at 3.50. Considering England have to bat last and have no choice but to go for the win, coupled with the fact that this pitch has a good bit in it for the bowlers, i think that's a great price.
