Watching him in the nets, and it's amazing how quick the ball comes out of the hand even when he's just rolling the arm over. Completely different tradjectory to Lee, and looks much more threatening.

Hardly any lefties in cricket history have been as fast as Johnson. What's more, he has a vaguely disjointed run-up/action, which isn't suggestive of express pace. He'll always be awkward to bat against imo.

No matter how it was described by Cricinfo, it was several times worse. It's quality was matched only by the ball he got out to.

I know and agree with that, think he gets far less credit for his wickets than he should. Was taking the piss.

Yeah Lee, even when bowling quick, looks like he comes off the bat nice too, doesn't he? Johnson's one of those blokes who hits the bat, it jarrs and rattles your teeth. Hate those guys. So much.
