Ha, duly registered my vote for Mr Green.
Drogba played didn't he? He came on at halfy IIRC.again though, showed how Toothless Chelsea were without Drogba.
Yeah indeed, and they scored a goal within minutes, and dominated the rest of the half. Once he was on they looked like scoring, for the entire first half Anelka was just totally out of the match and Chelsea looked like they didn't have a clue. I don't particularly rate Drogba, but Chelsea certainly play better when he is in the side.Drogba played didn't he? He came on at halfy IIRC.
Really, even as a Utd fan I think he's a bloody good striker, when he's on his feet, which is for approx 27 min per matchYeah indeed, and they scored a goal within minutes, and dominated the rest of the half. Don't think the gap is that big, but they are strikers of different styles & roles as well.As a United fan too it hurts me to say that Drogba>>>>>Rooney, or indeed any striker in the premiership bar perhaps Fernando Torres.
Yes because Rooney's not a striker. As a United fan too it hurts me to say that Drogba>>>>>Rooney, or indeed any striker in the premiership bar perhaps Fernando Torres.
Maybe it was just Benitez and the system he was playing in.Very disappointing to see Madrid & AC Milan look so awful this weekend albiet there injury woes.
Sissoko was brilliant for Juve though, couldn't believe it was the same player that was at liverpool. Pretty much shows how strong the premiership is that a player can look a bit decent here but WC in another league.
Yea his rotation policy definately influenced Sissoko in leaving. But i always saw him as lesser version to Alonso. Last night son bossed the mid-field while marking Ronaldinho quite brilliantly.Maybe it was just Benitez and the system he was playing in.
Haha I called it. Reporots in Italy suggest that Inter will offer Chelsea £10m cash for Didier Drogba and in return they can have the piss head that is Adriano. Not sure which is a good deal for whom, maybe for Inter, although Adriano will be with plenty of Portugese speaking people, so....Lack of from sledger IMO. And I'm in Australia ATM.
Anyway what odds will it be draw between Chelsea and West Ham? Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United have all drawn, what odds this pattern happening?
What!? Drogba's one of the best big-game players around. Possibly the worst criticism ever.I'm with Sledger on Drogba, I don't particularly rate him as highly as the media all seem to, yeah he's a very good striker but I wouldn't really put him in the top echelon. Also prone to going missing in big games for mine.
Comparing Drogba to Rooney is always going to fail, because they do such different things. There's not really a United striker you could compare Drogba with, arguably to our detriment because we still don't have someone to use as a target man should we require.
Away at Anfield was a big game for sure, and he won it with probably the only shot on target Chelsea managed to make (it didn't qualify as a chance, half-volleying from 25 yards with your wrong foot while on the turn). You're also ignoring the fact that he's likely to score less goals against big clubs because they're harder to score against. Can you find a player with a better record in big games than him? Man Utd certainly don't have one. William Gallas is the only one i can think of from the big four.Nah, he's played well in a few big games, gone totally missing in others. The 1-0 win over Liverpool in the league wasn't even a big match, FA Cup final he was just as dire as everybody else before redeeming himself, other two, fair call. Really depends whether he's bothered or not, and he isn't far too often. For the 3-2 win over Liverpool, he was bothered due to Benitez idiotically slagging him in the press before the game, which was bound to backfire.
