What a very very odd match.

Nice hundred form Toddy Astle, a player who so far hasn't even come close to fulfilling the enormous promise he displayed for the U19's.

I see that Mathew Sinclair's fired up about a Jeetan Patel deliberate chuck during the current Wellington vs. Central match.

Sinclair should give up the chat and concentrate on applying the defibrillator pads to his barely twitching international career.

Quite a debut from HKP Boam one of the few players on the domestic circuit who is younger than me.

3/56 and currently on 16*

Scored 116 @ 29 in the Youth Test Series this year against England and took 3 @ 38.33
His first match was a bit of a shocker though, was quite gun in the second.

It seems the teenagers coming through are doing really well. Normally they were like Todd Astle as far as they show promise but dont really deliver, but lately we've had Southee, Boult, Anderson, and Williamson actually perform well in Domestic cricket. I wonder if these guys are just really good players, been coached well, or if the level of domestic cricket in NZ has waned over the past few years. For a bunch of 18 year olds to be doing well is not that common I would have thought. Maybe its just a good vintage.

I don't really think its the level of our domestic structure that has went down or anything, I mean we're seeing good batsman dominating and good bowling doing the same. The pitches are a little flatter than usual which means we have to put that into consideration when judging our batsman, but the fact our bowlers are doing well despite this is something to be quite happy about.

Teams like Otago, Wellington and CD are stronger than ever. ND seems to be finding some form and Canterbury can surprise. Auckland appears a bit weaker than they have previously done but are hardly a poor team.

Half of Aucks seam attack is in the Black Caps and the other half is in the ICL.

Also thier batting stocks seem a little thin below first XI level (Jimmy correct me if I'm wrong :p). Though once again, tests and ICL have had an effect.

Apparently he tried to bowl a doosra. If he can learn one without chucking then things might get interesting...an offie with a good amoury of deliveries could be handy.

Scores runs for CD though, and thats the most important thing in the world. :p

Patel is a chucker x100000000000000000!!!!

The ND-Canterbury game was pretty good, disappointed that Van Wyk took the soft option and took the light. Had nothing to lose anyway.
