O'Brien has an excellent length going here this morning, Flintoff-esque back of a length. Unlucky not to get Clarke at slip.

Vettori bowling a negative line and length outside leg stump, the batsmen padding them off.

Haddin looking pretty good in his first test fifty, hoping he can convert to a big century. We have all day to bat, so we may as well make the best of it.

I don't think Symonds got any bat on it, but I'm not overly fussed about it. It was a close call, and the umpire must have thought he hit it.

Redmond into the attack now by the way.

Hmm everyone already decided Australia are going to win this then?

Not disagreeing but it's damned quiet...
It is quiet. Before this partnership began, I thought New Zealand had a good chance of winning, if they could get Australia out under 370, then bat out of their skin and get a lead of 300-350 odd and pressure the Australian batsmen to go for a win, and use Vettori a lot, into the footmarks and rough, getting a lot of spin an rip through the Australians.

This partnership has killed that though.

Awesome work from Haddin & Clarke this morning. Hopefully now we won't have to hear people harping on about "drop Haddin for Ronchi becoz hez **** lolz".

Getting annoyed with the commentary tbh. It seems they jump on anything to put the boot into NZ, hell, Chappell even resorted to making things up.

"The New Zealanders just had a go at Haddin for running down the wicket, that is ridiculous" just after Haddin has charged Vettori and hit him wide of mid-off where O'Brien did a good piece of fielding to prevent the run. Chappell goes on about it for the rest of the over and then on replay it is clear that the kiwi's are saying "Running OB!" (OB is O'Brien) and Chappell pipes up "yeah, they are saying something about running off".

As I said, anything to put the boot in.

he may be playing well, but so he should, pitch is flat, bowling is straight, and he's overdue

mate that bloke dribbles so much **** it's not funny, it irritates the **** out of me, and he's on more now coz they use 3 commentators instead of 2, so they rotate through more often, ugh... time for some abc and kerry

Haddins playing well. Although Luke Ronchi is putting his hand up for selection. Both are great wicketkeepers and batsmen. I would like to see ronchi playing in the one day team. He played well for Australia against the West Indies with a quick-fire 60. Ronchi also has the ability of playing a controlled innings batting with the tail end, like he did against the Vics.

ronchi is a rare talent, i would love to see him in the team, unfortunately haddin is pretty good, and i don't know if ronchi has the ability to find the brake pedal

Mark Nicholas - please, for the love of god, shut up. Or at least change your underwear. Your soppy dribble needs to be eradicated from the airwaves forever.
