Bracewell's replacement as NZ coach

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Same. The only other alternative really would be McCullum. How should be too, but his Test formis becoming a worry...

Would havep preffered the Canterbury guy, coached a bunch of youngsters to the title last year. We could do with him atm.
Dave Nosworthy (last year's Canterbury coach) has gone back to his native South Africa. Decent guy, and a much more astute coach than Andy Moles. A great loss to New Zealand Cricket really.

Have been coached by Dipak Patel before...not a huge fan, though it was relatively brief coaching to be fair.

Listening to Moles's credentials and what people say of his atitude on the radio, he sounds quite good. Obviously not Mott or Wright (though sombody said he was quite a similar coach to Wright) but he could be a big help. I think the only real flaw Bracewell had was man management. We didn't have enough tests scheduled and that has been the big issue with our test form imo, not entirely Bracewels fault.

I know, I was really hoping at the start of the year that NZC would have a talk to him and say "Hey, Bracewell's gone at the start of next season and the job's yours if you want it", but I think the NZC have always really been considering more high profile options and when none of those panned out, they were really left stranded.

Really don't know much about Moles. Seems to have done a pretty decent job of handling Southee, Boult and Williamson so far, but the team's results over the last 2 or 3 seasons have been pretty average (although they did win the Championship a couple of years ago).

yea he wasnt good at man management and just having a chat to the guys when they needed it. I sort of got the impression that he has seen so much average cricket over the past few seasons that he didnt really instill much self belief into the guys.

It is really good just to see some fresh faces around the team and the inclusion of John Wright to the selection board can only be positive. He is coming in at a good time into a team with alot of potentail that they havent realised yet. If he can grow this team then this is a buch of guys who can go to some real big heights.

I am really exited about the next 10 years in NZ cricket.
