Catches from Glen McGrath's bowling?
Thats correct. Actually, Waugh and Warne have the most catches (34 and 30) off the bowling of a pace bowler by any fielder (not a keeper). Ponting's 23 catches off McGrath take the total to 84. A fabulous record. Very tough to emulate.

Fred Stocks who played for Notts after WW2 has a remarkable claim to fame which I believe is unique - what is it?

I am not too good at finding my way round anything other than a real paper Wisden Cricketer's Almanack which I don't have access to at the moment but from my limited grasp of cricketarchive what I see is entirely consistent with Kim Hughes having done the same as Fred Stocks

Is it something to do with controversial incidents involving Australia? Edgar was at the non-striking end during the under-arm incident, of course Javed went at it with Lillee, and Gavaskar was involved, though not as a player, with Border-Ponting.

I would hope it's something rather more unique to the three than that.

Ok a hint-

There are three parts to this link-

The first part has been achieved by over 20 players.
The second link when combined with the first reduces it too 5 to 8 players.
When we combine the third link ,with the first and second it reduces down to these threee.

Is it concerned with low scoring? In a way yes.
Not neccessarily in absolute terms but certainly in relative terms.
