Who was that guy who ran towards the boundary from point when Clarke got run out? Everyone else seemed to congregate near the pitch as you would but there seemed to be someone just running off the field... bizarre

Agreed, his seam position is always woeful. The only person I know with worse presentation is O'Brien.
Interesting comment given that Clark has been (and almost always is) the one bowler in this match who has genuinely seamed the ball, both ways, and unpredictably.

People go on about his accuracy, but the reason Clark is so effective in tests is because of his subtle and unpredictable seam movement, and perhaps the wobbly seam has something to do with it?

I'm starting to believe that this might be the case. Or possibly because he's so upright at point of delivery, he hits the deck harder than anyone else, causing the movement despite the fact that his seem position is never that great.

NZ bowling pretty airy fairy atm, especially Southee

It's frustrating cos I really think Symonds looks pretty vulnerable and wouldn't last long against penetrative bowling..

Another thing is, I think he might deliberately be bowling a cutter pretty much every ball...he seems to sort of roll the ball out of his hand, hence the wobbly seam and movement off the pitch. It's so subtle and constant that it's hard to tell whether it's just his natural action, or whether he's a bowling genius.

Yeah, Southee looks tired. My pick would be bring on Ryder. He proved a partnership breaker in the first innings with wickets in his first over, twice.

Sean says "Ponting is perhaps thinking he should have gone for victory in India in the 4th test forgetting the over-rate. In hindsight he probably would be happier with a ban for this test than the performance he has displayed here" Hmmm... comments are reserved.
Not a bad call tbh

Katich 50 too, top effort.
