Holy **** its belting down in Brisbane. Radiosports Allan Macglaclan (sic) just filed a piece of audio from outside his hotel and he almost got smashed by a few deck chairs.

EDIT: Second report: Biggest storm system to hit Aussie in 25 years apparently. Hailing, houses ruined, is this true or is he exaggerating?
Nah fair dinkim. The Gap, a suburb north of Brisbane has been declared a natural disaster area. Apparently worse than Cyclone Larry.

Crap thats bad (for Brisbane)

So I'm guessing no play tommorrow?

Third live report coming shortly apparently, assuming he hasn't been killed.

Not looking all that flash for them right now. It was crazy, where I live we had gale force winds that picked up in less then five minutes and we had a storm and we have rain.

No rain at all tomorrow according to the weather boffins.

Doubt it, the Gabba drains like a seive. Might be another delayed start, like today, but as long as its sunny and dry tomorrow there'll be some play.

We'll be right. It was bad last night (100mm - 200mm of rain, and 250mm of rain in Ipswich, west of Brisbane) and we still got a full day's play not with standing the 30min delay at the start.

Nah they'll be play tomorrow.

'Gabba drainage is amazing.

Actually went to a one day game at the 'Gabba a few years back and there was like a 20 minute storm, and the rain bucketed down. You could almost see the puddles disappear as quickly as they formed. After a delay of about an hour including the storm play was back on no overs were lost.

Pretty much the only way to stop play at the 'Gabba is if it is actually raining or bad light.

The late TV1 news says its going to be sunny all day tomorrow in Brisbane so I'd imagine we'll definitely get at least close to a full day's play, if not a full day.

That amount of rain won't help the pitch settle down though. The openers will have a fun time tomorrow morning.

Just caught the highlights on youtube (god bless internet piracy), the ball from BFJ to get rid of Clarke really was superb. If he can bowl a couple more like that then he might get a few during his career.

McCullum's catch to get rid of Lee was also a ripper. Reckon we'll need to get 400 in our first innings if we're to win the match though, which looking at how tough things were at the close of play last night might be a tall order.
Yup fantastic effort from McCullum to dismiss Lee - from what I saw (which admittedly wasn't a huge amount) we fielded very well, except the four overthrows. If we're to be competitive over the course of the tour, I'd say our performance in the field will reflect the results, and so far, so good.

Ryder seemed to bowl very well, cracking delivery to dismiss Clarke which nipped back, not sure if there was an inside edge but either way, Clarke was well beaten. If we can get similar performances like that from Ryder in the future, it doesn't exactly help Grant Elliott's push for selection though if Ryder can almost play as a fourth seamer.

Yep, Ryder's bowling only makes me more certain that the selectors did the wrong thing by leaving Peter Fulton out of the lineup.

Yeah, how dare the NZers do anything other than bow and scrape in the presence of the mighty Australian side full of good, genuine blokes that cricket fans can't help but love. Kinda like their supporters.
Haha it wasn't anything to do with that, I just find the Kiwi fandom yo-yo amusing, nothing to do with who's on top.

Touchy though, touchy.

We're happy when the team performs well and are upset when they play piss poor (which has happened to be a lot lately). What's wrong with that?

Stopped raining in Brisbane now.

I reckon the pitch isnt anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Seaming around a little bit, but mainly it was pretty good. Australia don't really have bowlers to swing the ball, so I fully expect it to look a lot flatter tomorrow...unless we bat like absolute ****e, which is likely.

How many catches does Taylor juggle at slip? It's uncanny.
