***Official England in India***

Oh, and our decision to leave out our one specialist spinner looks about as smart as I feared yesterday.
TBF, I reckon Swann can be pretty grateful to miss a game on such a tiny ground as this. I'm not at all sorry he's not playing here, not for his long-term prospects.

Much prefer see Patel get belted. At least he's a batsman.

Even if they get bowled-out, they should get 300.

Though a quick couple of wickets now would possibly be the difference between that and 350.

I'm not entirely sure what the dimensions are at Nevill Road (it's not big, certainly) but Swann doesn't play there more than once a season, so it's not terribly relevant.

The comparison is not because of that, because of your use of the word "tiny".

Compared to regular international grounds, this is decidedly among the smaller ones - or at least seems that way.

Not the sort of ground you want to be a spinner on.

It's the usual ODI standard ground in India though. Good spinners will thrive if they do no-nonsense bowling.

Could England still be docked a couple of overs if they don't get through the 50 overs in time or has this rule changed these days? Anyone

I'm sure I've seen at least a few bigger grounds than this in India TBH. That's purely on supposition though, don't know any exact dimensions.

There's certainly still some sort of penalty, not sure whether it's runs or overs these days.

WoW, that's a fabulous strike. Just a flow of the bat, and six over extra-cover. Hardly ever see that.

Would be happy with either of run or overs tbh. Just hope its not something ridiculous like 0.00012 % of the captains match fee. Think its fair to say that history has shown us that fines just don't deter.
