Interesting to see Mail getting dropped tbh, for basically a specialist bowler. Don't have a problem with him getting dropped, as he hasn't scored any runs and sooner we start the Usman/Hughes combo the better. But Stevie and Mosies aren't ready to play as specialist batsmen. Should have picked another batsmen and bite the bullet on one of them.

Symonds and Tait back in Australian side

These two are back in the Aussie side for the ACA All-Stars XI v Australia T20 game, glad that Symmo is back, but i think they are rushing Tait back, let him first play a whole domestic season without getting injured and then pick him.
False billing imo. It's not like the All-Stars team is stacked with 'All-Stars'. Personally hoping Noffke runs through the Aussie side.

Yeah, this match is basically a stop on the 'Gilly book tour.

If it was truly an allstar game, you'd have names like Martyn, McGrath, Warne, Law, Maher, Kasprowicz, Shane Lee, Ian Harvey. Hell, even Bichel would have been credible.

Would have loved to have seen this side:

Gilchrist
Langer
Maher
Law
Martyn
Lee
Harvey
Warne
Kasprowicz
Dale
McGrath

And that's only coming up with names off the top of my head in 3 minutes.

Would have loved to have seen this side:

Gilchrist
Langer
Maher - ICL
Law - ICL
Martyn - ICL
Lee - can't bowl anymore
Harvey - ICL
Warne - didn't offer enough money
Kasprowicz - ICL
Dale - bowls at 80km/h
McGrath - didn't offer enough money

And that's only coming up with names off the top of my head in 3 minutes.
if only half that side wasn't in india playing a t20 league.

You guys realise this is just a glorified version of the old Chairmen's XI match to start the season. Just replace Lilac Hill with the Gabba, 50 overs with Twenty20 and added in lights, camera, action.

Are SA having to do without Tait for a whole Shield match because of some T20 mess-about? If so they must be pissed!

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Katich in the All-Stars side, gun. Will make it back into limited overs contention with a glorious 80* (34) imo.

Frankly, if I was someone like Clarke or Haddin etc I would feel pissed off being asked, two days after getting home from an arduous tour, to fly to Brisbane for some meaningless money-making T20 match.

This is a terrific innings from Wes Robinson, it's exactly what WA needed to introduce a bit of competition for spots and accountability for the incumbents.

117 for Johnson in the seconds, wonder how far that's closed the gap between himself and Ronchi...
Apart from Ritchard the ACT attack is fairly ordinary at the moment, and even he is pretty gentle most of the time. Wouldn't be reading too much into it.

I didn't think saying he's 'closing the gap' was reading too far into anything, it's a pretty mild statement tbh.

Must be some good knocks from Borgas and Klinger here, anyone in SA had a chance to shimmy on down to the game?

North and Dropper on to bowl though, partnership breakers at both ends.
