The thing is we need India to have a chance to win, we must risk collapsing on day 5 to give them this chance. Remember they only need to draw, to win the series, so if we don't give them a chance to set a target and have enough time to bowl us out they will just play for the draw. Kejza got most of his wickets when the batsmen were playing attacking shots, can't see him doing too much when all the batsmen put up shutters and just eat away at the overs remaining.
It's pretty rare that batsmen can put up the shutters for more than a whole day, which is what India would have to do if the Aussies get well past their score. India did it in Bangalore, sure. Wouldn't back them to do it as easily on day 5 of this pitch, though.

Katich and Hussey won't be putting up the shutters though, their job is to score runs at a brisk pace (which they've been doing successfully).

On the other hand, if Aus score 600 or so and India are batting on the last day, they'll have to bat out a draw and essentially "put the shutters up", something they are categorically not the best at. Especially considering that the one batsman in their team who is made for that situation is in the worst form of his life, and probably past it.

People seem to be forgetting that Oz is still 250 behind and, as such, Australia's first job is to get somewhere near the Indian total

If they fold for say 300, were in desperate trouble

Oh definitely. I think many Indian supporters here are a bit down in the dumps too early for my liking, but IF (big if of course) Australia do bat for most if not all of today, they can square the series based on the fact that India have choked in situations like this before.

Everyone else who's taken an 8-fer on Test debut and how their career ended up. (in an innings)

Albert Trott
26 wickets @ 15

Bob Massie
(took 8 in each innings)
31 @ 20.87

Narendra Hirwani
66 @ 30.10

Lance Klusener
80 @ 37.91

Alf Valentine
139 @ 30.32

Where will Krezja end up I wonder?

Reading some of the posts in this thread, I have no idea how somebody like SS even like's cricket. Sure it is one thing to be a pessimist, but I have no idea how somebody liek that can even get out of bed in the morning.

Makes up for being wildly pessimistic about cricket by being wildly optimistic about the space elevator. In person, I bet he's chilled-out.

Doesn't alter the fact that ridiculously pessimistic posts, whether they're attempting to be a jinx or not, takes away from the quality of this thread.

Reading "its all over, Australia are 0-10 and only need 500 more runs, considering its India, they'll definitely get it" every day of the series is irritating. I wasn't here much during the Mohali test, but when Haddin and Clarke put on a partnership during the 4th day, despite Australia still being 5 down with a ridiculous amount of runs to get, it won't surprise me if some individuals started mourning another Indian stuff up.

It gets tiring to read

Oh and  @ Craig and Faaip
