Its hard to sometimes imagine how a player like Lehmann (who might well have gone down as one of the greatest players of the 90s) was left out throughout his prime and usurped by players clearly inferior like Katich (in the 2001 Ashes)
LOL. So much irony here it hurts. Not to mention somewhat ill-informed.

I haven't seen Krejza bowl, but if he has any potential and Ponting is a bit smart he will spare him that ignominy. If they score 300-400 off him in this test then I fear he may not be able to return from this.
Krejza has the potential ot be a serviceable spinner for Australia, but he needs to work on his variations in flight as well as a good arm ball.

Look, I know you're a Katich fan, but Lehmann was undeniably a better player than Katich, especially in his prime.
Lehmann was undeniably a better player than most guys going around in the 90's. Should definitely have played Test cricket before he was finally picked in 1998.

Was referring to the irony of Katich in a userping situation (see Sri Lanka) that made me laugh.

I'm probably mistaken but I can't remember if Katich was directly selected ahead of Lehmann or not. After all, Katich was selected only to fall ill (late 90s), and returned at around that time, which I thought had something to do with it.

i have a question.

i know harbhajan wears a turban thing for religious pourposes and he doesnt have it on when he bats because of the helmet. so what happens if he scores century? does he take off the helmet to celebrate the traditional way or not?

and the guy on this forum with a oily wrestler as his pic. why?

Can't remember for sure but wasn't he picked when Steve Waugh was injured in England 2001?

Bret Hart rockz.

He's never hit a century before, and I think he wears that mini-turban.

Dont think the statement is ironic or ill-informed. Lehmann is a vastly underrated player and its well known that he was unfortunate to not have played as much test cricket as he should have. AFAIC, you only have to watch the 2 of them bat to see the gulf in class between them. Katich isnt a bad player, but he's prone to bowlers with a decent inswinger.

However its rather irrelevant because in 2001, Lehmann had far more years of success both in England and Australia under his belt than Katich so it made little sense at that point. Its hard to imagine how someone like Martyn even made it ahead of him IMO.
