Just out of curiousity if Australia wins the test will people give the selectors due credit?
If White bowls really well and takes a bunch of wickets, yes.

If not, why would you give the selectors credit? What they've done is drop one of the world's best seamers on a random punt that picking two mediocre spinners will win us a game, rather than sticking with Clark after he bowled pretty decently in the last game without luck.

Picking White for his batting is ridiculously defensive when we HAVE to win on what was always likely to be a flat wicket. Picking him for his bowling is daft when he hardly gets thrown the ball anyway because he's terribly unpenetrative. If he takes a bunch of wickets, then fair enough, maybe the selectors saw something. If he keeps bowling like he has and ends up with 1/100 off 25-30 overs for the match again or whatever, it stands as the worst selection decision I've ever seen, even if other players play well and win Australia the match.

Basically, they've dropped a proven performer in favour of a second spinner, while retaining a spinner who barely even bowls at first class level, apparently mainly because he's a handy specialist number 8.

Well no need to blast the selectors, since i'm sure it has been well covered. But i'll say i'm very worried about future test match selections between now & the Ashes when SA & ENG put Australia under pressure.

Encouraging to see Krezja didn't look like crap also.

Nearly choked on my bran flakes when I heard AB list Australia's spinning options today whilst Krejza was bowling and White was included. He mentioned him after Clarke & Katich, mind.

& "Razor" is the obvious choice for Krejza's nickname, surely?

Krezja's nickname is, as per Brad Haddin, "Jason Krezja".

It sounded so weird whenever Haddin would just continuously pronounce his full name when encouraging him. A "Jase" or even simply "Jason" would have sufficed one would think.

I have a feeling it was just a bit of a joke between the pair.

Perhaps many people [not huge cricket fans] hadn't heard of him or hadn't heard his name before.

I don't get the razor nickname?

Dropping Clark and retaining White is probably the worst decision I have ever seen in my life. White is attrocious at least as far as tests are concerned AFAIC, his batting isn't up to the standard required and he has fallen to good consistent test style bowling which his technique cannot handle. His bowling is an utter joke, theres a reason his best ball is his arm ball, its because he can't create any turn to save himself, and IMO his lack of variations kills him.

Whilst Krezja has been reletively expensive he has looked dangerous and has attacked and created chances ( had Tendulkar dropped twice FFS) which White could only dream of. We need to nurture Krezja, in my opinion he's one of the few spinner's we possess with the potential to become a proven performer, given his bowling style it's understandable that he lacks quality domestic figures, playing on consistent roads isn't going to help anyone.

To drop Clark is an absolute farce in the first place but to reduce your seam up attack to Johnson, who has been solid whilst not spectacular with Lee, who's performance's have been plain to see are below his best regardless of the triggers behind them, supported by Watson is a joke

Or Bra Hogg. I reckon he thew away an enourmous opportunity to rule the spin roost for a good year or two almost unchallenged with the timing of his retirement.
Nah, he probably foresaw the pasting he'd receive in India and thought it not worth the effort. Besides, his retirement allowed Australia enough time to blood a new spinner in time for the next Ashes.
