Should this thread be titled **Official** Daniel Vettori in Australia"??
Well for world cricket sake i hope the Kiwis are since with Pakistan going through turmoil & WI still struggling despite the efforts of Standford. Having just 5 competitive nations is disappoiting. The fact we've played more tests this year than recent memory means our weakened team has been exposed a lot more. We're going in the right track IMO with the selections of Ryder, Southee, Flynn and Taylor - effectively a youth brigade..
Southee, Trent Boult and Corey Anderson were the three that took us to the semi's of the U19 WC. Boult and Anderson are looking good for BlackCaps callups after a few good seasons of FC cricket.Well for world cricket sake i hope the Kiwis are since with Pakistan going through turmoil & WI still struggling despite the efforts of Standford. Taylor, Southee, Ryder are encouraging prospects no doubt. What about the some younger players, i seem to remember NZ doing pretty well in the Under-19 WC earlier this year?
Why is Elliott a better selection than Fulton?I think Elliott is pretty much assured to play regardless since Oram is out for the series, so Fulton will be on stand-by for him and the current incumbents. IMO he should be there ahead of Fulton, not like Elliott's bowling will cause anyone any trouble in the test arena, outside of a ridiculous green top.
Haha, sorry I meant to say he should be there ahead of Elliott. My brain is getting worse and worse each day.Why is Elliott a better selection than Fulton?
Fulton is far more proven as a batsman at a high level than Elliott.
Oh..well then yes, you mirrored exactly what I said earlier.Haha, sorry I meant to say he should be there ahead of Elliott. My brain is getting worse and worse each day.
Was thinking the same, ITBTShould this thread be titled **Official** Daniel Vettori in Australia"??
Fulton's not playing. Not in the first Test anyway.I actually enjoy the prospect of the NZ team getting thrown in the deep end. Its great to see who can really stand up and compete against the best. IMO its a selection clarifier. It doesnt matter so much if you score loads of runs or takes loads of wickets, but just if you seem to be able to compete.
predictions.
Redmond to get 4 scores under 10 in 4 innings.
How to not exceed 30 in 4 innings.
Fulton to do well.
Ryder and Taylor compete well with a decent score or two each.
Mccullum to score a hundred in the test series,
Southee to be the best bowler of the series.
Wasn't he player of the series?Southee after a fantastic debut looked fairly average in England.
Thinking he is talking about one bad test...He was very good in the ODI series. Should defo start here.Wasn't he player of the series?
Nash?Elliot? Gezz I would put money on Redmond picking up more wickets in a test match if he is also picked to bowl. Nash's time has to be up if he fails on this tour.
Either thats an odd typo, or Stacey Jones isn't the only one making a shock comeback.Nash?
