TBF he hasn't actually bowled that badly (not watching now mind you), early on despite the runs he went for, it wasn't too bad bowling, just some very good batting by Sehwag. Line and length was not rubbish, just good batting. He picked up two vital wickets, better then not getting anything?
He didn't bowl as badly as his figures (runs per over suggest) but he didn't bowl so well as to pick up those two wickets either.

Dravid went forward to a ball he should have played back to. So inspite of a huge stride he was too far from the ball to play it down. Clear sign of a batsman out of form playing in his mind rather than playing the ball.

Sehwag had no need to try to cut an off break coming in, too close to his body and not short enough. He was, probably upset by the fielder just them brought in at silly point.

Both those deliveries shouldn't have got him wickets.

But I agree he bowled reasonably. But he has absolutely no variation whatsoever and though he flights the ball, it doesn't float away with the arm or dip suddenly on the batsmen to make them misjudge the line or length.

This partnership is now worth 60 and both batsman are set. The only way I can see them getting out here if they gift it through a lapse of concentration or if ponting displays some miracle tactic in captaincy which is less likely.

I hope Watson comes back on before tea rather than Ponting doing his usual thing and leaving it ages. Also I wonder if he shouldn't give White a couple of overs to see what he can do.

Sunny Gavaskar continues to bull**** his way in the commentator's box.

In the off spinners last over, the fourth(or fifth) ball was bowled short, Sachin picked up the length early, moved back and across and unleashed what was a ferocious pull shot. The ball tuned and bounced and Sachin missed it completely, It hit him high on the left pad and the other commentator (Brendon I think) commented on the appeal saying it was perhaps too high.

They replay was shown and Gavaskar pipped in , "Yes. Its too high and thats because Krejza is not afraid of flighting the ball upt o the batsman which gives him extra bounce besides the spin" (or words to that effect. This comment to a ball that was so short Sachin went for a massive pull even though it was on the stumps.

It did not end with that.

The next ball was bowled even shorter but wide outside the off stump. This time Sachin went to square cut the off break (so short and wide was it). The ball turned and again bounced more than the batsman expected and Sachin had to adjust his stroke to a tap from above playing it backward of point for two.

The great Mr Gavaskar was gleeful.

"See. This is what I meant Krajza is not afraid of flighting and pitching up so he is getting additional bounce besides turn."

Its the limit. That ball was a long hop and Gavaskar continued his "parrot-like" chant of pitched up flighted balls and how they bounced.

I cant believe that he is such an idiot. I think if he wants to say something (in this case the correct though not valid in context) like higher bounce and spin coming from deliveries that are flighted rather than pushed through, And having made up his mind about what he wants to say, he just says it assuming everyone else is a complete idiot or blind (perhaps both). I wish his fellow commentators would stop giving him so much respect and put this non-sense where it deserves to be.
Perhaps he likes the sound of his own voice?

Tendulkar is making these 1s and 2s off krejza look like batting against a spinner in the 30th over of an odi when the field is spread time to bring clark on i think

Slightly off topic, but Krejza's inclusion over Clark gives Australia one of the best looking tails I've ever seen, in terms of First Class averages anyway.

First Class Stats
8. Cameron White - 5680 runs @ 40.80
9. Brett Lee - 2020 runs @ 19.23
10. Mitchell Johnson - 804 runs @ 25.12
11. Jason Krejza - 672 runs @ 23.17

They haven't done a lot at Test level, obviously, but it's pretty awesome when you just look at their First Class records.

Tbh virtually having no tail at all in a way is a good thing, but Australia's prime focus in this game should have been on picking 20 wickets, and i don't think prefering White ahead of Clark really helps in that regard.

The little advantage that we had at the end of the 1st session has pretty much gone up in smoke now, both SRT and Lax are set and looking solid and the bowlers just seem to be going through the motions atm, i would very much like to see Katich bowl instead of White atm, Katich would surely get some turn and might just get a breakthrough, White atm is easily being milked by both the batsmen for easy runs.

LOL, you missed Haddin and Watson

6. Shane Watson - 4536 runs @ 46.28
7. Brad Haddin - 5802 runs @ 40.85

Very good looking tails indeed.

Since when were batsmen #6 and #7 part of the tail? Or were you just taking the piss out of Geraint Jones?
