I don't know why the selectors are ridiculed here. What other choice they had? Clark has been in abysmal form this series, and cannot be expected to perform the job in the Nagpur road, so they went for the next best thing, Crazy.

His figures were aided by the 3rd inngs at Perth, when he took 4-61, the only time he looked menacing in that series.

And the current series? He is a joke, a strike rate of 200+ is even parttimers would goad at.

Not Terrible
Top Tail's

8-11 batting since 2006 (at least 200 runs)

WPUJC Vaas 687 @ 42.93
DL Vettori 925 @ 42.04
Kamran Akmal 335 @ 41.87
SCJ Broad 372 @ 37.20
JEC Franklin 255 @ 36.42
IK Pathan 216 @ 36.00
SK Warne 275 @ 34.37
(MG Johnson 192 @ 32)
SM Pollock 383 @ 31.91

So SL, NZ, Eng, Pak, Ind, SA (and Oz) have had better 8's than Johnson.
Johnson no. 11 > WI no.8, Bangladesh no. 8

Would say Ramdin is better than Johnson if he batted there too.

From the Aussie fan perspective, I think you'll find the continued selection of White is the bit which has people 8-) 'ing. Clark hasn't been effective, fair play, but he's still been better than White and looked more likely to take a wicket.

Clark's nice-guy act costs him again.

Haha, figures aided at Perth?! Do you bother reading over what you post, or do you just bash away and hope for the best?

The Australians lost at Perth ftr. The rest of the attack were dealt with severely and Clark stood up. What a joke of a post.

Agreed that he hasn't been absolutely on fire this series, but I've thought he's often looked like taking a wicket. With no pressure ever at the other end, apart from Watson occasionally, it hasn't aided his bowling style.

it's actually sad to see the aussies are going to be using 4 spinners when before we only needed Warne :(

lol wut?

"Lets just drop this one bloke because of 2 poor games, despite being excellent in the majority of his previous matches, yet we'll keep a straight breaker who goes for plenty, hasn't scored any runs, and has no prior record"

Yeah I mean, why the hell are we ridiculing them? 8-)

Lewis has the first positive comment about Aussie selection: "I'm happy with Clark being out. We've got Lee, Johnson and Watson, who have all done better than Clark so far this series. And we have to bat down to no. 8 to be competitive on these pitches in India, so White couldn't be omitted for Krejza. So good decision in all."

I guess your mental state at having lost almost all hope in Australian team, but objectively speaking Clark's drop was the only possible solution for Ricky Ponting.

Ah here we go, lee starts with a wide off the first ball, Harmison, 2006-07 Ashes, anyone?
