***Rugby League World Cup 2008 Thread***

chalky

International Debutant
Yeah, he retired after his "antics" down under in 2006 tho, sadly. Never travelled all that well anyway either, really.
The 1 game we did win against Australia he was the man of the match, he is still the best scrum half in super league & has a long kicking game.

But yeah all academic anyway because he threw his dummy out of the pram

Not quite sure how James Roby got through five there, but not arguing. Could have done with the extras, mind.

It's just turned into a contest all of a sudden. HAVE to turn some of this possession and territory into points before halfway.

In fairness, the Green and Gold defence has been terrific.

This defence is abysmal. Learn from it for the semi finals and final. Put some bloody hits in!!!

It's knife through butter time. Oz are running some good angles, but nothing world shattering. Pryce has offered nothing in attack or defence, Balsawood is still dire under the high ball, Senior looks a thirty-something who age has betrayed & Wellens's lack of pace is all too apparent.

Thank god for Roby.

Wish I didn't open this thread, we're getting it on delay (yeah I know, what the ****) and have had much of the game ruined.
Was wondering at the lack of Aussie gloating tbh.

Delay tho? That blows. I could just about see it if the game wasn't a sell-out & was held in NSW, but it's in Melbourne. Weird.

Sounds like Inglis is busy carving England a new one though?
Yeah, he's quality. In the two years that Sultana have had the NRL coverage up here I've forgetten quite how much better than Super League it is.

Anyway, the dummy's been spat; telly's now off. :@

**** me. It's like picking at a scab. Just turned it back on to see Slater going between Pryce (what's the point of him? Seriously) & Senior and having the strength to ground the ball.

This must be close to a record.

I actually really enjoyed the first 30 minutes. Thought the Poms gave it a good crack, but the lack of options on the last tackle was critical, pretty average stuff. Was really impressed with the fullback and number 10, hooker didn't do too bad either.
