Bittersweet at the moment. Good to see our batsmen finally doing well but at the same time it's a pity it took this long and if they came to the party in the last match it could have still been 0-0. Still early days, since the WI, Aus have been quick to collapse but if things go to planned here we can salvage a draw and regroup for the fourth Test.

In other news the Gambhir banning is HUGE. Getting rid of their in form batsmen who has scored a mountain of runs and has looked brilliant all tour will be such a big boost to Australia, if they can draw this game. If not, it doesn't really matter.

Yes, especially if Nagpur is the same pitch like 4 years ago.

Tbh, i don't think Australia have batted too badly. They completely did the job in the first test, and in the second they came up against some excellent bowling from Zaheer, Mishra, Ishant and Harbhajan. Only at the start of the second innings did they bat particularly badly.

Interesting to see, too, that the Indian bowling looks a bit crap again now that international cricket's worst captain has returned.

Gambhir isn't going anywhere, he can appeal against this ban in the next one day and that would give him enough time make it to the 4th test of this series.

I don't expect him to score 3 centuries in a row, and he looks due for a failure. So don't really mind Gambhir sitting out.

Whatever it takes!!!
India win this test.. Gambhir sits out next.. all will work out well....... </optimist>

Australia will dig deep and draw this one comfortable, heck even get in a shout of dominating the game and India will be blown away at Nagpur... </reality>

For sure, massive blow.

I know it's early days, but this really does validate the Habri-Mishra calls, if Harbi wouldn't have been injured.
Kumble has really become dire. If he can't take a wicket on this surface, god knows where he will. Really pathetic. If Australia manages a draw here due to a sound 1st innings, a change in captaincy could be expected at Nagpur. Problem is, Harby's injury looks grave enough for him to miss that test also. Which, would again put Kumble in the reckoning.

BTW India's secret of reverse swing is out : FLUKE.

Regarding the bee thing, it's happened in the past couple of years but can't for the life of me remember where or when. Anyone?

Haven't seen an Aussie batsman a really big score for a while now (2+ years?) Hopefully Hussey can get a good shot, the one thing missing from his CV is a test double hundred.

Going by Cricinfo, Ponting looking quite good and scoring fluently. 37th test hundred?

bye bye match..... :(

Australia to make 750 by the fifth day and then declare, just to rub it in.....

Hope we will be good enough to survive for the draw then......
