Australia needs to score atleast 800 in the first innings inorder to create any chance of a win in this test. seems near impossible to me ...!

Assuming they go at a RR of near to 4 which itself looks impossible, they would need about another 200 overs to get to 800. That is 2 days and a session more. If they declare at Lunch on 5th day with 180 in the lead, they have to pray for another miracle to dismiss this lineup (which they have failed to since 1st test 1st innings), within 2 sessions for less than 180.

Surely we can safely say a win for the Aussies is out of the question? The only way they'd be in with a chance is to do what they did in Sydney in 2004 where they scored quickly in their first innings without worrying about getting close to India's score and relied on India setting them a gettable total. Aside from that, it's a win for India or draw at this stage.

As long as we're making predictions, I predict 300/8 by 3rd day stumps, following on and 180/4 by stumps on day 4. And India chase 60 in 20 overs on Day 5 to win. :P

I predict Australia will be 2/364 at stumps on day 3.

India just have to persist. Scoreboard pressure and disciplined bowling will do the trick.

Exciting time for Indian cricket :)
