I'm still undecided on whether How got a good delivery or he played all around it. I only saw one replay from the reverse angle, and it looked like he was trying to play down the line, but got the line totally wrong. Didn't look like the delivery was doing much.
Beautiful outswinger from the front angle.

Another inspiring opening partnership there :(
Yeah, it's a bit of a worry. I've got faith in How, and I liked the way Redmond played in the second innings of the last game, but I'm really concerned at the moment about how they'll go in the Australian series.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Thing about the openers is both have had a poor time of it except for Redmonds half century. If you were to drop them on form they'd both have to go, really, and I don't think it'd be wise going into the Aus series with 2 different openers to now, especially since there isn't anyone else around with recent match form given domestic hasn't started.

The opening combination continues to be an on going problem. After what seemed like light at the end of the tunnel after years of searching in the wake of Richardson's retirement, we seem to still be there or there abouts, despite How's promise.

Yeah. Seen it now. Both How's and Taylor's dismissal were those good balls that regardless of how good the ball was, they make the batsman look pretty foolish. Taylor's especially so.

Whenever a batsman gets out 'leaving' its generally considered poor. I'd like to think that we see some great bowling in some of these dismissals. For example, Martin Bicknell's dismissal of Jacques Rudolph in 2003(?) where he sets him up with 2 beautiful away-swingers which Rudolph rightly leaves only to bowl the in-swinger which clears Rudolph up is clearly exceptional bowling, and some of these times where the batsman gets cleaned up 'leaving' are pieces of beautiful bowling.

The commentators are all saying the pitch is a belter and great for batting, but it looks really bad to me. It's a very dark colour and you can clearly see reflections in it, and the bounce is inconsistent. It's definitely drying out though, and our batsmen have adjusted to it nicely anyway.

Cue memories of Flintoff bowling Katich off stump in the 2005 (?) Ashes.
