Obviously trying to trick us with our selection. "Yeah, he looks good. Don't worry about the tour match or his FC career to date, I reckon you should play him!"

Whack, whack, whack, whack, India 6/540 dec. in Delhi

some of those 6 wickets could be Krejza's :p .... if he is picked i guess he would pick up more wkts than some of the other regulars

unfortunately not as the game starts at 12am at my place .... by lucky, I meant getting to bat on the Ist day pitch, against Kumble and Bhajji, who don't do enough of late in the Ist inning, if the pitch has nothing in it for them

though I remember, watching a little of that early session on Day 1 at B'lore and coming up with this before hitting the sack
Ah ok, he made the most of it though and looked good from what I saw. Unfortunately that changed.

that pic of Ponting trying at spin illustrates perfectly the situation with australias spin stocks! Imagine the headlines in the papers with this photo...

C'mon guys Punter is just rolling over his arm there, really there is nothing more to it, but even if he is to bowl himself (which is highly unlikely in the first place) he would most probably bowl seam-up, but got to agree the picture is funny nonetheless.

Krejza should play 3rd Test, says Border

^ my exact thoughts .... Australia should try out Krejza at Delhi .... it not a risk considering the surface and how the pacers may not be that effective there

Ok as far as sending out a message is concerned by playing an orthodox out and out spinner in Krezja instead of White (who is more of a conservative spin option) Australia would send out a positive message out to the Indian team, but its just way too risky an option for Australia to take in a must win game, especially considering that Lee and Clark are yet to fire, and add to that Clark is struggling with his fitness too, so if the fast-bowlers were firing than they might have carried a woeful performance from Krezja, but in their current state i can't see them doing that, on the contrary if Krezja plays and gets hammered that would only put more pressure on the Aussie quicks.

to make an impression in the test, the Australian bowlers as a group will have to do well .... if you are saying that Lee and Clark are not up there yet then Australia is still going to struggle even by playing other options .... and don't forget, Australia has Watson as a pace option too

stuffing the line-up with all-rounders hasn't worked for Australia so a line up like the one below could make sense

- Batting: Jacques, Hayden, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke,
- one from: Katich, Watson or White
- WK: Haddin
- Pacers: Johnson, Siddle, Lee or Clark
- Spinner: Krejza

The thing is, though, as well as White has bowled given the low expectations of him, he doesn't really offer anything with the ball that Clarke doesn't. He can tie up an end and provide some variation - great, that's more than I thought he could do spell after spell - but he's not really offering much to the team, especially give he hasn't looked like scoring a run.

Krejza offers something totally different: if he's at the top of his game and the pitch is turning, he could actually be a threat. Tour form suggests that's pretty unlikely but it might be worth the gamble. If he bowls crap then Watson and Clarke are still available and I don't think Clarke bowling White's overs would take a lot away from the team at all.

If White was scoring runs it'd be a different matter, but he isn't.

well maybe we have some goodnews for aus it seems "bhajji" has got an injury of sorts (excessive celabrations maybe) but he might be out of the delhi test. u wud think mishra would be slotted back in but do u think since kumble is back they would opt for maybe someone else? chawla?

I guess Pragyan ojha or murali karthik would get the call up if both bhajji and kumble are unavailable.
I really doubt the selectors would play chawla and mishra together.

Chawla and Mishra are very different types of spinners, I could see it.

I personally cannot.
The only difference between them is perhaps that mishra flights and turns the leg break more while chawla turns the googly more and is a bit more defensive.
There is a lot of difference in their experience levels but as bowlers they playing together, they willl not give the variety that a left arm spinner like ojha would give.
If they play together then the only line of thinking that would fit is that seeing as aussies have struggled a bit against both this tour(specially mishra),two would be better than one.
