Based on what the groundsman's come out and said, if he does sit on the pitch then Hayden's won't be the only crack on the surface

Cricinfo's Quote Unquote said:
"I think, more than anything, I am such a weapon here because, when I started attacking, they [India] just got so defensive."

Matthew Hayden's confidence remains high despite scoring only 42 runs in four innings
Jeez, Can someone tell him it is 2008 and not 2001! The guy still thinks he's a India-bully despite being poor in 2004 and so far now.

Well that's really douchebaggish to blow his own trumpet like that, he won't end up looking too good if he doesn't score some big runs by the end of the series.

Sad when a cricketer of his genius has to say such things like "I've made them pee in their pants in the ODIs some years back, so they will definitely pee in their pants now also if I attack them".

If he walks his talk, no doubt India will have it's hands full.

Hayden is actually correct

Despite defending 516, Dhoni had 5 men on the fence before Australia had 50 on the board in the second innings whilst Zaheer lost the plot, bowled rubbish and lost 80% of his match fee - all because Hayden hit a couple of 4s

However, none of that knowledge will do Hayden any good if he fails

All true but I don't think means India will retreat straight away next time. Hayden was being ridiculously aggressive so they had to back off as it was a matter of time before he got himself out. If Hayden comes out aggressive, it won't be as crazy as at Mohali and I would be very surprised if they backed off as far.

Yeah, Top Cat summed it up. Hayden got into Zaheer's skin, and subsequently the cowardly reply (all send offs are cowardly, esp the ones where you have no role) showed Zaheer in the dock. However, while the battle was won, the war was lost, and Hayden should be careful not to go aggro first ball.

Obviously trying to trick us with our selection. "Yeah, he looks good. Don't worry about the tour match or his FC career to date, I reckon you should play him!"

Whack, whack, whack, whack, India 6/540 dec. in Delhi

There is no doubt that Hayden would have to have some sort of a decent plan to counter every Indian bowler, the way he batted in Mohali more than anything else just displayed frustrations of an attacking batsman who was trying to break the shackles that the Indian bowlers had put on him before that innings, i am sure that Hayden won't bat like that in the upcoming games, the Indian team on the other hand is going to test his patience in every way possible, so its important Hayden too shows patience and application.

Hayden may well be right, but there's a time where throwing out a sledge or a bit of burley is a fair enough tactic - when you've just lost a test by 320 runs and have personally contributed 42 runs in 4 innings, its probably time to be in the nets rather than in the presser...
