Which Australian fan would be happy with 1-0? I wouldn't. Obviously it's better then 3-0, but I wouldn't be satisfied with it one bit.

I didn't really mean the players. I meant from a watchers point of view, and considering the performances so far, what is a decent effort?
Possibly is a decent effort but it clearly isn't the result they went for. If my team had beaten all before them for years, I wouldn't even be happy with 1-1

Can't really expect the No.8 batsman to score, when the 7 before him is not doing the job.
No, but his batting was being made something of when he was picked over Krejka. If White had put on a decent partnership with Hussey in the first innings of the first test, or with Watson in the first innings of the second, it could have affected the results.

I had thought before the first test that one option would be to play White instead of Watson at 6, and then four quicks... but given both their batting so far it isn't really an option now.

I think he's far too shunted down for a guy who averages 40+ in FC and plays more as a batsman than bowler for his state. Sometimes, when you push a batsman deep down, his performances as well suck. Because he, either will be in the company of tailenders, or would be playing for a declaration, or would be playing in situations where batting is a challenge.

Whitey should be playing much higher.

BTW Is Krezja a decent bat? Because recently saw a 20-20 replay on TV, and saw him coming at No.6 iirc.

Agreed about White being un-used to batting so low. But given Watson's batting so far, and also that White hasn't even managed a couple of 30's, I think the option of swapping White for Watson isn't there at the moment.

I think Krezja is meant to be okay, a decent FC no. 8 I think.

Poms can't wait for the next Ashes to start after watching Australia's performance in India. Other day heard Geoffrey Boycott talking about England being the next best test team in the world under KP. Well England have a long way to go for that i guess. Its like Geoffrey Boycott has concluded Australia are going to slide down in terms of performance. But he should think about their team first before jumping into any conclusions. They displayed a mediocre performance against SA @ home. After one ODI series win, they are rating KP as the next big thing. Surely he did have a good start as captain. But he has to prove that by being consistent. That's what the Australians have been doing for the last 15 years.

AWTA. The hyping up of Kevin Peitersen would put to shame what's being done in India. And about Geoffrey, he's a big joke with his mouth.

That said, I'd change my opinion if England manages to beat India this winter.

Boycott's forgetting a couple of things. South Africa>>>England. India>>>England.
