Especially now that Rogers is a Victorian.
Making the move probably lessened his chances, Victorian batsmen; the great ignored.

Seriously, when was the last time a Vic batsman played then left the Test side without bitterness?? When was the last time a Vic Test batsman RETIRED?

Oh my God! Shaun Marsh in the Test squad! I knew that most international selectors were insane, but always held a blissful ignorance that Australia was not a team with such. A Test selection based on T20 form - has the world gone mad?!
It's not, really - he played a couple of decent knocks last year in Pura Cup.

His record in India (albeit 2020) must've clinched it for him?
The place should never have been his for the clinching. My money is on his 2 FC wickets at 60.00 a piece clinching it for him since he is a SLA bowler.

A couple of knocks would put him ahead of Hussey and Hodge? In that case, we might as well put Pujara in the Indian team after his two triple tons.

No, they shouldn't. But looks like an experience pick whereas Hodge/Hussey would only get a call-up if there was a specific place in the XI for them, not just to tour.

It been mentioned before, Hussey and Hodge are Victorian batsmen. They aren't classifed as Australians. Got more chance of playing for NZ.

Hussey minor has probably been unlucky, but surely Hodge being a bit of a **** (even as Aussie cricketers go ) would rule him out of contenion...?

Seriously tho, maybe it's an age thing? Oz have been slightly caught with their knickers down when most of the golden generation went within a year or so of each other so maybe they're skipping a cricketing generation?

McGain's selection the exception that proves the rule, obv... :p

I never said it was. Just trying to find some reason for the callup ahead of other more deserving blokes.

Never been a fan of experience picks myself when the batsmen should be nowhere near the squad. Indeed, Marsh grew up around Australian cricket and has made his career in India, what experience will he gain?

Seriously wtf?? I mean what is wrong with the Aussie selectors, are they all suffering from some sort of clot in their brains, i mean you don't really have to be Einstein to figure out that guys like Hodge and Hussey deserve to picked ahead of prodigies like Marsh (who i think is tremendously talented, but he surely is not yet test material) on the sheer weight of runs they have scored at the FC level and with kind of FC experience they have.

I guess blokes like Hussey and Hodge might be thinking they would be much better off saving their runs for IPL and not waste time sweating around scoring runs at the FC level, btw gotta add it was top call from social, so well done mate...

Nah. Who else opener-wise? I don't think they'd want to waste Hussey at the top of the order and rightly so. The only options opening batsmen-wise are Marsh and Rogers really.

I wonder if Australia will be tempted to open with him moving Katich to 6, Watson 7, Haddin 8 and getting rid of White?

Would love four proper bowlers, but you never know with the selectors.
