***Official Australia in India***

International Coach
Dropping Clarke is not on, as he one of the best batsman in the country, but he has to get mentally tougher, he is Australia' captain in the waiting but the bloke can't even withstand slightest of pressure, which is starting to get a bit annoying now.

The idea of dropping Johnson also makes no sense as he has performed quite well in the last two test matches, bowled with real pace and has been the only Aussie bowler who has constantly troubled the Indian batsmen, as for Clark and Hussey having to wait for their chances, they were competing for spots with some of the all time legends of the game, and if that sort of quality would still have been around in Australia then we would have seen the likes of Clarke and Johnson tolling around in domestic cricket.

P.S: Anyone else also having site problems?

Heard Dhoni on the stump mic saying to Mishra in Hindi to bowl around the wicket to Clarke as he will pad up. Big credit to Dhoni for suggesting the move and big credit for Mishra for bowling so well today and trapping Clarke plumb in front.

Terrific captaincy by Dhoni. I'd be happy if he takes over from Kumble as test captain. On the whole, Ishant and Zaheer getting the ball to reverse swing so early was fantastic. Mishra was really impressive too and I'm glad they went ahead with him instead of Piyush Chawla for this series.

Hoping we can take advantage of Australia's relative inexperience in their middle to lower order.
Don't think it'd be possible for me to agree with you more. When the Dhoni era comes it'll be very exciting, and when the Kumble era ends we'll have 3 good young spinners in Mishra, Ojha and Chwala waiting in the wings.

Yes particularly Johnson because 2 OK innings doesn't not make up for 20 innings of utter tripe. Its blatantly obvious that he's been given a free ride with performances at state or international level to warrant selection. You see players like Hussey and Clark in the team who had to work quite hard for years and years in the domestic circuit and have only been recently (relatively) been given opportunities. Seriously a couple of years at domestic level would do him a world of good, make him appreciate it more and work harder. Same principle applies to life, the trials make you a better person.
Dropping Johnson is out of the question - he is working hard, bowling well, getting the rewards and has stepped up to the mark when it matters

Clarke, on the other hand, is not dependable when the pressure is on

Personally, I couldnt give a toss whether Symonds ever turned up to another team meeting, photo shoot, whatever - I'd have him in the team every day of the week before Clarke because he delivers when it matters

Brett Lee should have run onto the field and warned him.

Why?

Changing the field and direction of attack happens in the last over of virtually every session in every match

It's hardly rocket science and that's what makes Clarke's dismissal so pathetic

Sheesh, have a sense of humour.

Yesss..Indians in a great position. They have got themselves into a position from which only one team can win the match...and its not Australia. They are in an even better position than Aussies were in the first test.

Still we will have to wait and see. I certainly hope I'm wrong and Johnson becomes the next premier left armer, but he has to string together the rest of this series and maybe against South Africa at home later this year.

It's Test cricket, he got done by excellent bowling. FFS don't hate, just appreciate.
Yeah thats the thing that annoys me the most..whenevr aussies are in a spot of bother, its always because of their lapse in concentration or some such..Why not just admit that they were outplayed? For heaven's sake..Clarke got done in Bangalore test 1st innings and this one today by terrific deliveries. There was nothing he could do about the Zak inswinger and i doubt he picked the googly Mishra bowled from over the wicket(the one which he left) before he switched to around the wicket and repeated the dose. The guy has a beautiful wrong'un after all.

While its true that he has been your best bowler..don't think he fully deserves all the credit he has been getting.I mean some of those deliveries were utter rubbish down the legside.Anyway well done to him.

Day 2

i guess, what I wrote yday sums up the day 2

It would be nice if Ganguly could hit a 100 in his final series .... a good opportunity awaits him on day 2. with some support from the other end and some luck, he can do that

with the crucial session coming up, i m hoping for some sensible cricket from India. play the balls on the merit and take things as they come .... if we can put on a big total, i think we have the bowling to take 20 wkts in this game
Ganguly gets his 100 .... too bad that Dhoni missed a 100. Boy, is he a different player when he is the captain .... i would never under-rate a player like Dhoni

a different spinner and things start to happen for India .... if Bhajji and Kumble had be in, it would not have been surprising if Australia were in a better shape .... probably, we need to bring in another spinner in for Bhjaii and the effectiveness of our spinners will probably improve when bowling in the Ist inning

PS

a final note on yday's 'annoying' events .... will start of with rooey's post. not much to say on apart from may be that it was highly entertaining and probably shows the quality of ppl who get annoyed. I believe that ppl with substance don't get annoyed easily

i read that he has been banned but honestly I don't like anyone getting banned because of me so I request the Mods to lift his ban if it's possible

as I said ppl with substance don't get annoyed that easily. looking at some of those who got annoyed will tell you that they are the ones who probably thought that Ponting has finally done justice to his record in India with one 100 .... Fact: you don't improve your record with one 100 in a series. he has to do well in the series consistently for that

then this guy with a string of low scores in India goes on Zak saying that it was an unusual performance by him and then we have ppl suggesting that was a gem of a comment .... Fact: Ponting's 100 was an unsual perfor in India!!! those comments by him are idiotic

i guess, it's is annoying to those who think that one 100 improves your record, with 1 unusual perfo you think you have the right to say stuff to other team's players on his so-called unusual perfo

if we had the substance, we would know that one 100 doesn't change things, you don't go picking on the other team's player for an unusual perfo when you haven't done anything of note in India and then you are back to your normal ways in the very next test .... when I read such comments, it usually appears a case of empty vessels making some noise and not surprisingly these are the ppl who get annoyed 8-)

Agreed. Clarke got done by some good captaincy and most importantly some great leg spin bowling. Mishra like Badrinath once again proving the merits of having a long stint in domestic first class cricket and proving your worth as a player in the domestic first class arena.

Because it's not just an isolated incident, it's a rather prominent trend in his career and it shouldn't happen so often. The fact that multiple people were predicting it before it happened shows it's just as much in his head as it is his opponents.

It's true but all the incidents I can think of were excellent bowling. Jones was a a brilliant ball which reversed late, Zaheer bowled a peach of an inswinger which even the best would be lucky to survive and Mishra foxed him on two levels, firstly by making him think the footmarks would be in play and then by bowling and landing a textbook googly. Think you guys are being a bit harsh on Clarke here.
