Just got home, saw the score at 72/1 and assumed there must had been rain delays

A lot of talk about negativity, but if it gets the job done then fair play. Kind of reminds me of this test:
http://howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Matches/MatchScorecard.asp?MatchCode=1495

Despite the game ending up as a draw it was the best chance England had of a win in that series, all because they batted slowly on the first day (180/3 off 90) to set it up. I dont coun the game after as an England win btw.

Anyway, weve seen the banglas play aggressively every test for the past 8 years and where has it got them? Maybe grinding out a score will suit them better.

76.3 Vettori to Mushfiqur Rahim, 4 byes, spins out of the rough and beats McCullum down the leg side.

Suprised there is enough rough already to do that. Its gonna get hard on day 3 and 4.

Well batted in the end, our fielding let us down and they cruised with the conditions after a bit of initial struggle. Bangladesh are turning into a bit of a handful in home conditions.

Thank goodness the IND/AUS game was on, was very close to breaking the TV a few times today.

Hopefully we can remove them for 200ish before lunch.

Lies I tell you. I blame Redmond.
Yeah. Maybe if Redmond had talked up his leggies a bit more, the selectors would have left Patel out.

Jeets is, at times, exceedingly good to watch bowl. I'm an off spinner myself so there's little I love more than watching him bowl an attacking spell in a Test. He just doesn't take enough wickets to justify playing, though. People jumped up and down when Krejza got picked for Australia but his domestic record, in a better competition against better batsman, was no worse than Patel's and he can bat a bit as well. I like watching both of them bowl but they aren't Test standard.

Its the first day of a Test match to be fair and Redmond dropped a wicket.

He's a right arm off spinner, of course he isn't going to be that effective most of the time. Pretty much a fact of life with that style of bowling.

Patel's FC record is incredibly horrible. It actually beggars belief he still gets picked for Wellington. I think his international career kind of explains his domestic record- he somehow has a knack of looking good but being completely ineffective.

Another one of Prince’s 'Good Ol’ Boys'. :)
Haha. To be fair, he's done better than more of his fellow Bangladeshi batsmen in Test cricket so far. His average was over 30 not long ago. He definitely has problems scoring when he's in poor form, though.

What an incredible waste today was for Bangladesh. The pitch was flat, it was a bloody road. Jamie Siddons should chop the top 4's knee caps off for batting so stupidly negative. I'm not at all surprised Bangladesh put on such a big partnership, the pitch was flat, did nothing off the seam, turned very little and slowly for the spinners and offered no pace or alarming bounce.

To bat at only 1.94rpo for the entire day on that pitch is laughable...even for Bangladesh. Day 1 will also easily be the best day for batting, they needed to make the most of winning the toss and they sure as hell didn't do that. Anything under 300 and they will lose the test...time permitting.

Yeah just joshing with you but if Saleh is getting worked over by Jacob Oram on a wicket where the ball struggles to get above waist height, his going to get killed at Centurion against Morkel.
