Yeah I realise that. Just saying that it's strange that India has managed to unearth such class batsmen but no bowlers in the same class.Look at Indian bowling averages during that time.Bowlers win matches.

Yea, he is pretty bad. His average could be in the high forties. It was similar with Inzy - he could have averaged 60!

I think a lot of it has to do with pitches, but much of it has to do with fitness and nutrition as well. Not to mention injury management, which is just nonexistent sometimes in India. And we're not even talking about the biomechanics and other things that fast bowlers absolutely need.
Indeed, it does, about the disparities between Indian and overseas conditions (pitches, etc) and also the skill level of the bowlers involved. For instance, I note that Kumble and Harbhajan have good-to-very good home records, but mediocre-to-poor overseas ones.
Congratulations to Ganguly, for going past Bradman, even though I don't think of him that highly as a Test batsman.
...and Tendulkar, of course. How could I have forgotten?

Well, they got the better end of the deal. They have had some fantastic batsmen too, in addition to the Imrans, Wasims, etc.
