Yeah he is going back home as he has some sort of a back problem, possible replacements are Hodge or Hussey and maybe even Symmo could also have an outside chance of getting a call-up, or atleast i hope so...
Will almost certainly be Hodge I'd say. If the selectors want to show any consistency at all, it will be.

Poor cricket. Bowling has been pretty poor all day and the batsmen have just given their wickets away. Sehwag was strangled to a certain extent but Dravid and Gambhir should be absolutely kicking themselves. Australia are very lucky to find themselves in this position, especially given the pitch.
Laxman out down the legside too

Indians should maybe just start leaving those alone!

Yeah, completely awta.

I think since White is in the side, Ponting needs to bite the bullet and show a bit of trust in him, if he bowls with the same accuracy he showed in the Bangalore test then he would do a decent holding job from one end, and that would give Punter an opportunity to rotate the quickies from the other end.
At the moment? No way. Lee is fired up and Jonners is taking wickets. The pacemen are doing the job fine for the moment.

Lol, I don't have a view either way regarding substitutions. My point was more the hilarity of his commentary.

"This is test cricket, stand there for two hours" pretty much sums up the reasoning people always use against test cricket as an entertaining sport. That its a whole lot of standing around.
He's right though, England in particular are absurd in this regard.

Great performance by Johnson and Lee SO FAR

Oz dont seem to have much difficulty getting India into trouble but they struggle to finish them off

Haha, well atleast a concrete slab would have bit more bounce than this current deck.
Nothing wrong with the bounce IMO. The bowlers have got lift when they've bent their backs and it's been very consistent.

It's slow, true and hasn't moved an iota which has made it pretty damn poor, but I don't think bounce has been an issue.

No not atm, but at junctures of the game where the fast bowlers aren't getting much love out of the deck, then Ponting should look to use that tactic, would improve the over rate and also would ensure he does get his quickies stuffed.

Yup, absolutely poor cricket by India on this pitch. The two legside catches were smart bowling, getting up into the ribs of both players who don't play the pulls all that well any more.

And I see Johnson continues to bowl 'poorly' as predicted.
