Considering they're 6 down I don't think making 180 odd would do the team much favours, apart from proving they can bat out 50 overs instead of losing by being bowled out.The commentators are saying the batsmen should have a go...not sure I agree, I think it'd do more good for their confidence if they could bat out their 50 and get to 180-odd, rather than blast their way to 120 all out.

Bondy could it be true???
Fair enough. But even a low key series like this between, with all due respect, two of the poorer Test nations, still has elements of excitement within surely. Looking to see how Jamie How goes, was impressed with him over the 2 series' against England.I just dont think anybody really cares......
Give the man his due, he's bowled well and deserves his chance. Southee has many many years ahead of him and we should hardly feel the need to spend his worth so early in his career. I reckon he'd get a lot more bowling and getting slaughtered by Aussie than bowling and slaughtering Bangladesh.Going by what has been said of the pitch NZ have to bat first, which will be very interesting. Looking forward to whatever happens.
From what I have heard O'Brien is going to be selected ahead of Southee. Crazy decision for mine. Southee bowled pretty well in the One Dayers and I thought deserved a crack with the red ball. O'Brien and Mills opening the bowling wouldnt scare the Macleans College 2nd XI batting lineup. At least Southee has a bit of pace and generates good bounce.
Bah...the test is half ruined for me already!
He bowled well in England, granted.Give the man his due, he's bowled well and deserves his chance. Thumb injury ... He should be ready for the SAF tour or even the 2nd TestCan anyone tell me why Raqibul hasn't featured for Bangladesh on this tour? Injuries? Studies? Bad domestic form?
He looked a really promising batsman to me. If he could develop a more solid back foot defence he'd be awesome.
