Graeme Smith is likely to the miss the games due to tennis elbow. Likewise Hashim Amla is a doubt with an ankle injury which may need surgery. Johan Botha will captain the side in Smith's absence whilst Ryan McLaren's debut is subject to getting clearance from Kent.

The Proteas will meet up at a training camp in Kimberley on the 26th of October and additionally six players, Dillon du Preez, Dean Elgar, Johann Louw, Wayne Parnell, Alviro Petersen and Lonwabo Tsotsobe will also be attending the camp.

It would be a step in the right direction if Zondeki was withdrawn and a white player was called up, rather than having to match like for like.

No because Zondeki isn’t confirmed as being out but knowing Monde, a groin injury usually lasts for sometime.
Also Parnell is classed as ‘black’ (according to Norman Arendse).

Don't think Parnell's colour has ever been made an issue because he is so talented but he was actually playing for RSA U19's when he was just 16 and has been fast-tracked phenomenally quickly in South African terms. He only made his first class debut at franchise level last week...

EDIT- Rereading the Arendse quote. It doesnt imply Parnell is of colour. I think it is just badly worded. Meaning no other player of colour or Player A or Player B.

Doesnt mean that Parnell is a player of colour.

It is irresponsible for Tsotsobe to be picked

Franchises are being told not to sign Zimbabweans so I don't think they will go for Kenyans. Unless your top draw, most franchises and their supporters would rather see home grown players in action. Even some Dolphins fans are upset that the club signed Sanath Jayasuriya.

There is not the same $ incentive for the Associates to host 20-20s. It would still cost Kenya more to host than they would make. Better at this stage of development to play as many ODIs as possible as it costs about the same to host, but you get more cricket.

But T20 is such an easier sell to the common man on the street. Its just bloody 3 hours and can be set up on as part of a weekend family event
