Hopefully the likes of Southee/Mills/O'Brien/Gillespie/Franklin can keep Martin out of any future Test XI's, hopefully...
I suspect he may have done his dash, though I could be being rash(yea I rhyme)

I don't mind Martin resting from this series, he has had a heavy workload of late and obviously needs a rest.

It also makes Southee a definite, which is fantastic.

I think selectors did a good job in giving Martin a break. If he is not fit 100% why must he take risk and play against minnows. Australia tour is big one.. and he needs to be fit by then. thats more important! is 't it?

As I sort of suspected, Flynn has been picked ahead of Elliott. Incredibly harsh on Elliott, I hope he gets a game next time.

Yeah true enough. dare say Flynn won't be taking on the Aussies bar injuries, unless they decide to play Elliott as part of the main bowling attack.

Predictable twelve bar Elliott - personally thought he would've been named ahead of Flynn. I'd imagine Gillespie will be ommitted from the XI; Patel must surely be given all three games in conditions that actually suit him for once.

I don't think Patel doing poorly on the NZ A tour of India will help his chances...it will be interesting to see who does get ommitted.
