Will be interesting to see how Warner goes, he scored 371 runs@74.20 in the emerging players tournament three months ago

Yes and no. Jayasuriya batted relatively well but Bailey served up some unforgiveable tripe that day. Short long-hops generally go the distance in Adelaide and it's telling that probably all of the sixes off Bailey were cross-batted swipes into the Evans stand. When Heal came on, the SL batsmen played with a lot more caution after they'd spent all morning belting the others. It was because Heal was on a length pretty much straight away. Bowled really well on a day that was clouded over and should have suited the pacers a lot.
Have some footage of it, so I do know what you're talking about. :) Was mainly referring to the long-hops disappearing in almost exactly the same fashion. May as well have just shown a replay of the first one several times over.

EDIT: Perhaps you don't realise that I have a photographic memory of every match Heal has participated in.

Gotta say I'd love to hear Billy Birmingham's impersonation of Justin Langer. Makes some pretty good comments, but sounds like he's trying to force out the never-ending turd.

Really? Had no idea it was televised. Is it on YT? Wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Yeah you're right. Just don't know why Bailey thought the result would be any different if he bowled the ball in the same crap spot on the pitch! Paul Rofe was awful that day too.

Knew Lambert was batting too low in this team. Surely his experience would have been valuable in the top 6.

Just on the Henriques comments a few pages back, he's in the squad for the Sheffield Shield game, so maybe he was just overlooked for this game.

Wasn't able to watch the first innings of the game, but from the looks of it Dorey and Heal had a good time of it, and Ronchi too seems to have been kept busy.

Considering the strength of the Western Australian batting line-up this target shouldn't be hard at all for them to chase down, so looking forward to wacthing Marsh, Ronchi and Pomersbach bat, having said that i hope Hauritz too does decently with the ball.

Ronchi gone for a duck, good ball from Bracks though, so good start for the Blues here.

Interesting would have thought he would be seen as more of a OD specialist then FC. Though he might have just not been fit enough for todays game. Khawaja must be injured, can't think of a reason why he wasn't selected.

Going to be a long season if Lambert is our best batsmen, probably will be our best bowler today as well. If Hauritz doesn't get much from the pitch. Reckon 7 the best position for him, or 6 if Dan Smith is in the top 6. Really needed another top order batsmen. Should have selected Cowan if Khawaja was injuried. Or given Henry a debut.

Sweet ball, but what kind of a loser gets out Stan Darsh?!

Cameron has been fast as in Grade, reckon he'll have a gun season if he can stay injury free.

He's coming back from injury, which is probably where the explanation lies. I rate him as a much better OD player than FC atm, so as a list management thing it doesn't make a whole lot of sense I guess, but the FRC 12 man squad was named a few days before the SS one; maybe he's feeling ready to go since.

Gamble taken with bringing in Hauritz in so early paid off beautifully, Pomersbach got out playing a moronic swipe, but good thinking on part of Thronely to use him so early.

P.S: Hauritz bowling beautifully atm.

As a bowler he is far better in the FC cricket. As an overall player he is better in ODs. Though I hope this season him and Lambert play as bowlers and we don't see any of Bird, Coyte and ****ley and their batting used as a bonus.

Though with the lack of depth in batting, both will bat around 7 this season and we will play basically three all rounders and three specialist bowlers. Basically like today with Mosies coming in for the one of the spin bowling all rounders.

Hauritz is just beautiful full stop, too bad he can't take a wicker in the two day plus match.

It was hardly moronic, it nearly carried for six. That's the way he plays and it works for him.

Marcus North is the one who gets out to idiotic sweeps.
