Wow. Ridiculous rant from Kinnear there. He's only put himself under more pressure, TBH. He's dragging the club through the mud already with stuff like this, so if he doesn't perform in these six weeks then his managerial career will be over for sure.

Also hilarious, mind. What a rant.

Without a doubt. Defoe is a class, class player. Give him games and he'll prove it -
Don't want to get into another deep Defoe debate with you again. But saying he is a class, class player is a definately OTT. He is as solid a premiership player as my old favourite Matthew Taylor & these days seeing him starting to look a bit dominant in the league, but then **** for England, is deja vu Andy Cole.

I give up, I literally give up with you. Bracketing Defoe with Taylor is utterly ludicrous.

Arsenal have dropped five points in the last two weeks, almost criminal really, given the opposition, happy days. All we need now is United to do the business and it will be another watchable MOTD.

It depends how you define 'decent', though. My point was if Matt Taylor is a "decent Premiership pro", then Defoe is not. He's clearly better than that.
He's no Dong, obviously.

Let's face it Rose, if Defoe was playing for United you would be wetting yourself over him.

Not really. Was opposed to both Carrick and Tevez when they first came in. Also, think Nani's no more than decent ATM. Too inconsistent to be called anything better. Surely was wetting myself over Dong or was it that I was just pointing out the facts?

Clearly he's got the talent to be good but his record AFAIK isn't good enough to be considered such. From what I've seen of him, he's not a type like Rooney or Keane to help out greatly in the attacking play even if they're not scoring. Can't remember him ever being in the top 10 of goal scorers for a season. Not good enough for an elite is what I'm getting at. Crouch though, yeah.

a) He's never really played in a side that's going to give him good service, week in week out. His previous record is very decent given the types of sides he's been playing in.
b) He's been in and out of sides for most of his career which is going to hurt your rhythm.

Now he's at Portsmouth, he's mysteriously started scoring a lot of goals.

Haha, Crouch elite, Defoe isn't.

They're both on the same level, decent enough but not top-4 quality, like say a Chris Armstrong/Dean Holdsworth/Kevin Campbell

Yeah which is why I said he's got the talent but not the record. Has a chance now to play regularly. Can't say he's more than decent though with a career like that.

Basing that on Crouch performing for Liverpool.
