Rarely bother with MOTD personally. Let the missus watch a film or whatever on a Sat night, if I fancy a Prem re-run then Goals on Sunday is enough for me

Newcastle - Going down, Going down, Going down, Going down, Going down.

Couldn't win a rigged chook raffle if they tried.

Could well be bottom of the league by the time the weekend is done. Though I read earlier that the Nigerians who are buying the club plan to reinstall Keegan immediately (think this may have been discussed earlier on). It's ironic, in the mid-90s there was no more entertaining side than Newcastle on the pitch, now there is no club more entertaining off it.

Third time this season Gallas has let his man score from a corner. It's all well and good being a hero and marauding forward to rescue a point for your team but someone needs to tell him that just because he has the 10 shirt his primary job is as a defender.

Problem with Arsenal is that till they went behind they didn't really try and take the game to Fulham, just tried to pass it around and hope something opened up for them. They expected a cakewalk and got what they deserved out of it. Couldn't believe how flat they came out.

They get shown on pay tv, which my parents have. Whenever I spend some time there I watch them, otherwise I head down to the local Leagues Club which is open to 6am, or just follow them by updates on football365.com then catch the highlights packages on f00tyt00b.

Do these games get shown on Aussie TV or do you watch them on the web?
Only Fox Sports has the coverage. Once SBS used to show one game a week, but that hasn't been like that for four years now. Obviously other channels like ESPN and Sultana (Copyright BB) have all the American, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch, German, Irish, Blue Square, formerly Portugese, South American football you could ever want. Them and SBS has the Champions League and UEFA Cup (sorry UEFA Europa League 8-) ).

Basically what Smith wrote.

Not sure why you'd give that the rolleyes. It was quite obvious that the UEFA Cup needed a revamp, and it's about time too.
More the name then anything. I may be wrong, but I think the name 'Europa League' sounds dire. Revamping it is not the problem I have with.

Yeah we get the Premier on Setanta. Haven't watched much of it because my parents stopped paying for it after summer because I wasn't there to watch it anymore.

Yeah the name is utterly dire, then again the Champions League also shouldn't really be called that because it isn't exclusively for champions and it isn't a league.

I can't remember the exact format of the Europa League but I do remember that when I read through it I thought it sounded a lot better than the present UEFA Cup, the 3 from 5 system in the groups is dire. IIRC the Europa League is going to groups of 4?

As for the Pompey v Spurs game, Pompey deservedly leading, though they needed to profit from a moment of idiocy for their goal. Hope it stays this way tbh.

Mistimed. A yellow, yes, but never a straight red.
Agree with this, although he didn't help his cause by walking away from the referee when the ref was trying to talk to him, which was undeniably stupid but not really enough to merit a red.
