If there ever was a time to run out of batting partners.....

Almost certainly drawn this match, 1-0 up in the series (its winter 09), but i could declare without giving him a shot at the big one, 6th international ton of hte year, Cook is a bit good methinks.

Good call on Shantry, he's absolutely ace in this game. Only left-armer in the default database I can tolerate.

Plus, he's no muppet with the bat.

Yeah Shantry is one the players that hasn't been rotated in my England bowling line up. He averages about 20-21 for me :D. Also signed Denly in 2011 for Yorkshire (same game) and he averaged 50 odd in FC games and 43 in OD's that season :D.

Best thing about him, he gets Central Contracted almost immediately. His contract only came up for renewal when he turned 33, at which point his previous contract was stated as 24k per year, lol.

I'm not sure why Shantry's so good - hes hardly on the fringe of English selection at the moment and I haven't heard of him dominating the county scene in real life before. At least Munday and Rashid aren't quite so deadly in 08 as they were in the last couple of years' versions.

FC average of 19.71. When your main method of rating players is applying a set formula to domestic stats, these things happen.

Funny story this. Hosting South Africa, we were chasing the tourist's 400+ score in the 2nd innings, I fall to 200-5 and with my incompetent attack I calculate that the only way my bowlers can bowl South Africa out is on a 5th day pitch. I declare, let them enforce the follow on and put on a huge 3rd innings score, with Ewing then taking 7-72 to win me the match.

Anyone ever seen two sixes in an over before? Just happened for the first time for me, big Jake Oram tearing Matthew Hoggard to shreds...in a Test!

have seen it a couple of times in this ICC, far better with the sixes, managed to do it on ICC2006 with Ashraful once, think i've still got that screenie somewhere, now that was an achievement

I've had it happen a few times - once AGAINST me playing online, by Shane Warne of all players. Took the opposition's required runs down from 15 from 11 balls to 3 from 9 balls - I still won the match (he only had one wicket left). Will try and find that screenshot.

Today, after 15 consecutive seasons of Test cricket, England captain Gerald Whitehead retires aged 36 after smashing his 100th hundred in the 3rd test of England's historic 1-0 victory in India. I will always remember him as being perhaps the greatest bastman I have ever coached in ICC.

RIP Gerald Whitehead 2011-2026

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Won two matches today on the final ball.

First one we needed 14 from the final over and Brophy gets a single off the first ball. Adil Rashid, just new to the crease after one of my batsmen were dismissed on the final ball of the penultimate over, hits a 6, then a 4, then grabs a single.
Brophy at the other end then faces a dot, hits a 4 for victory.

Second match we needed 6 off the final over, and after some singles, a 2 and a dot, needed 1 off the last ball which we got.

Don't think my heart can take anymore tbh.

Started a new NZ career last night, played MCC today in a 3 day tour match. Won the toss and batted out the whole three days. Some good efforts but also some nervous 90s in there.

Not Terrible
Ways you can tell its a game:

Vettori didn't top score

How scored less than Redmond

McCullum scored more than 20 runs with less than two sixes.

Hay who is > than Flynn actually played...
