***Official*** Australia A and New Zealand A in India

Whatever it takes!!!
I do think he's a good player but I was mainly meaning that if he does not score some big runs in the next season or two then he will fall right out of contention for higher honours, taking into consideration his age the young openers coming through
I think he is still young enough to be inducted into the test side.. I mean like, he has quite a few years cricket left in him..

Yeah, but he is a quality keeper, he is an all-round athlete really his seamers are pretty decent too I remember him bowling me a couple times in the nets ha
Not to insult your batting or anything. But how a bowler bowls in a club training doesn't relate at all to how they would do in a game for NZ A. I play at the same club as Guptill and Young, and I can honestly say that Guppy is one of the hardest bowlers I've ever faced in the nets. But he just doesn't bowl, even in FC games let alone NZ A.

Yeah I was more using it as evidence that he is a great athlete, wasn't much else I could say to talk up his keeping ability seeing as McGlashan was the incumbent keeper for ND all season. Anyway, Watling is a class keeper and I am confident he would hold his own with the gloves if chosen to 'keep for the 'A' side8-)

And I think people are being a bit harsh on Young. He was out almost all of last season with a horrific ankle injury. At least give him a chance on the tour before you judge him.

Dougie snares Rahane early and it is 1-24.

Aussies unsurprisingly playing five bowlers with Krezja and Harris missing out. Will Forrest, North or Casson open?

McGain 6 2 13 3 2.16
McGain seems to be having a ball against India A , he isn't doing any harm to his chances of getting an international call with this kind of effort, disappointed to see Badrinath fail with the bat though.

Badri seems to have got over defensive. He shouldn't be burdening himself with pressures of a national call up etc. Btw McGain, definitely a test call up performance esp on the first day on a surface like Bangalore.

What the hell is going on, why is Casson not getting to bowl any overs, even Marcus North has bolwed more overs than him, has Casson got injured or something??
BTW, Kaif and Kohli seem to be doing well atm.

Oh my! McGain made his First Class Debut at 30!! And has only played 17 matches. You just earned a life long fan.
That' the only thing i have against his inclusion in the Aussie test side, he would be 37 in a few months time, and certainly he won't have a longish career, so it would be worth the risk to test a rookie spinner.

Anyone got any news on the 3 day game between NZ A and Queensland? I've only been able to find an utterly useless report on the Queensland cricket website saying NZ A declared at 301/6 after day 1. It only gives information about the bowling performances of Qld but no individual efforts from NZ.

Anyway got any news at all?

Aussie tend to pick the best available players regardless of age and go out to win, unlike our (NZ) selectors who seem to want to constantly rebuild.

I am not saying he should be completly ignored or anything, but still the fact that he may not be around for more than 2 or 3 seasons at the most really doesn't make him a very eciting proposition, and its not like he is a greatly proven bowler at the FC level either (he doesn't have much FC experience either), so he would have to stack up some really good stats to have a realistic chance of breaking into the side.
