0034: ENORMOUS BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS
The Spurs website says they have agreed to sell Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United for £30.75m, with Fraizer Campbell going to Spurs on a season-long loan. Did you get all that?

Oh man, wtf. Neither player's worth 30mil+, but it's ridiculous Berbatov's transfer fee's only 2mil off Robinho's.

Seems there have been no major moves while I've been away from my desk. Greenacre is still a white it seems, my facebook status will be adjusted tonight accordingly (Y)

 Greenacre
And I was hanging on the edge of my bed to see or not if he would make an 11th hour transfer to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Their loss IMO, don't know what they are missing out on.

Surprised there's not been much of Brumby in the thread today, either. Though I guess the Arse have been quiet.
You answered your own question tbh. Would've desperately liked a quality holding midfielder, but once the Barry to Scousers deal was queered we were never going to get Alonso. Just hope we've invested in a big bag of cotton wool to wrap Cesc in, because if he gets crocked we're seriously buggered.

Apparently there was some talk about Arsenal being interested in Veloso. Obviously nothing seems to have come of it though.

Hopefully one of Diaby or Denilson will be able to step up like Flamini (Judas **** that he is) did last year. Wholly dependent on Fabregas not getting injured tho.

Trust Arsene wholeheartedly, but given the board said he has £30m available I think it's sometimes not so much that we can't afford to compete with yer ManUres or your Chavs (or yer Citehs too now, I suppose), it's that he considers it all a bit vulgar and prefers to grow his own, as it were.

Well, that's that over. Never known the footy thread to be so active. Looking forwards to january already...

Robinho > Berbatov

suck it United
Nah, Berbatov is one of the best players in europe. 15 goals and 11 assists as opposed to Robinho's 11 goals and 14 assists (both in the league last season), and Berbatov was getting service from Jermaine Jenas. I certianly don't think Robinho's worth more than £25m, but we certainly did fleece United on the Berbatov sale.

Hopefully with the disruptive influence gone we can get our season back on track.

England has been taken over by France?

How random was the loan move of Derby's Tyrone Mears to Marseille? That has had to have been on the most remarkbale transfer deadline days ever.

2006's was pretty ridiculous, tbh. Granted, the Robinho deal's way bigger, but two players rated that highly arriving at the same mid-table club was awesome.

I'm just gutted for not buying the Chelsea shirts with 'Robinho' on the back they were selling on their website before they had even bought him, or were trying to do so anyway.
